That's bad news I'm sure loads of people would love to have "On Tour" on DVD. I know I would, especially a 'special edition' version.
Despite all the rumors that are flying around on the internet and specialized Elvis sites, there are no plans for a DVD-release of the 1972 rocumentary “Elvis On Tour”. EPE’s spokesman Todd Morgan has just clearly given their view on the matter. Elvis Presley Enterprises is willing to work together with Turner/Warner, but there’s no project in the pipeline for now. Therefore, and for the time being, “On Tour” will only be available on homevideo, not on DVD – let alone a DVD with a bonus disc and unreleased footage

Elvis PRESLEY:The most important, most influential artist of the 20th century. b. 8 Jan 1935, Mississippi, US, d. 16 Aug 1977. He holds, or has held, almost every chart-related record including perhaps the most important: more No.1s than any act in chart history.
Some of you all never been down South too much...
I'm gonna tell you a little story, so you'll understand where I'm talking about

Take a look at you and me,,Are we too blind to see, Do we Simply turn our heads and look the other way.....(Line From "in The Ghetto")
I had built myself up with expectation for the "Deluxe" version of "Elvis on tour".....now I`m disappointed. Coul anyone explain this to me though...A couple of issues ago in the Official fan club magazine (Elvis Presley fan club of Great Britain)....they had "On Tour" advertised in their dvds for sale section.....does this mean it is out there or was that a mistake??
This news isn't really all that bad if you think about it. Read between the lines. EPE says "they are willing to work with Time Warner". Since when have they come out and said this when they have zero power or real interest in the films that they don't profit off of or own? Sounds to me that they are keeping things quite for now. Let's be real-why would Time Warner NOT see a way to make a big profit off of the outtakes and the original knowing the fans are DYING for a release? It's some of EP's finest work ever! He's in better mood than he was in January 1973 and vocally at his peak in April 1972.
This just seems all too suspicious to me to believe that there's nothing in the works. I think there's definitely something in the works for the enar future. Possibly for when they open up the new visitor's center in a couple of eyars which may have an Imax style theater or some type of hi-tech theater that they could debut there. It all makes sense.![]()

EPE has nothing to do with whether or not this is released. They don't own the rights to it. The comment from Todd Morgan was actually expressing a willingness to offer assistance with any project the film company might choose to do. So no, EPE is not missing the boat this time. We have already had great deluxe versions of the 68 and Aloha specials, which EPE do own.
I think it's very sad news...it would be great if they release it on dvd
I'd like to go to Graceland
Memphis,Tennessee
ok my mistake. it's a shame though i do hope they release a deluxe version cause a lot of us would like have a similar On Tour dvd to the 68 and Aloha specials. Do time/warner own the rights to On Tour?
I wish this was out on DVD, but maybe in the near future they might change there minds
