For once I have to agree with you ,the short time I've been here .
Also saw that on other sites.

    To solve all the "bickering and insults " . I find it's much easier to not post on those threads IMO. {though many continue to do so, including myself }

I think it isnīt a matter of what color is nicer, to me the problem is they redecorated it becuase SHE/THEY didnīt like it THE WAY ELVIS HAD IT.
It was HIS house and he could have it look the way he wanted and I donīt think it was a right thing to do to change it the way SHE/THEY thought he should have decorated it or try go back in time and get it the way it was when Priscilla lived there as if his life ended the day she left.

My thoughts exactly Donut. There is a story about him in the decorating. Maybe a story some don't like. (like him letting Linda do it) but it is still about Elvis. Now I want to know where that furniture and stuff is from when he died. Is it in storage, worthy to be sold at a later date? Or already sold???

They have some of it on display at Graceland (you can see some pictures of it here in the galery)I think the rest is in storage.
To me it seems like she tried to rewrite history(again) and pretend some things never happened in his life.

    dear MissyM,

do you happen to know where in a report or interview his part in the decorating is mentioned? would be very grateful.

i agree with you that priscilla should have left it the way it actually was in 77 - no matter if it was tacky (resp. even tackier than 'her' blue-white version which is miles away from good taste as well). i do doubt though - see my postings - that this is likely to happen.

    hugs, ellie
i don't suffer from insanity - i enjoy every minute of it

Priscilla's colouring was better than the red in my opinion.

i absolutely agree that it was 'better', 'better' however is still VERY far from 'good taste'.

plus i do doubt it was her who was the main creator of that style. when she moved to GL a significant part of the furniture probably already existed.

I agree with you,he didn't die when she left him and the house wasn't the same as when she lived there and when he died there...she should have let it the way it was when he died.
I'd like to go to Graceland

Great point! The decorating comes down to "tacky", "tackier" or "tackiest" IMO

"Better" is a very relative word in this case!

"Graceland was scheduled for demolition to make way for a highway". I'm so sorry I missed all the fun that must have gone along with that post
