Yes, the Feb '77 pic there is one of the worst ones ever, although the show itself (vocally anyway) was okay.

Yes, in Rapid City '77 he looked - comparatively - okay to how he was earlier in the year, even when compared to Omaha two days previous.

But I have to disgaree about not looking as good again after Aloha: I don't think any of the pics in the first montage you posted have him looking quite as good as January 14th, 1973.

I will agree with this.I dont think he ever looked that good again.I dont think anybody ever looked that good as he did in Aloha. He was as close to a perfection as you can get.The changes he went through physically came awfully fast after that.

I agree that the Aloha Image is the Iconic Image of the Jumpsuited Elvis, as for perfection I think that 1970 as far as looks had that bagged

I think there are times where Elvis looked better than the Aloha after the event, you are right in that he looked good in January of 1973. For me Elvis looked too made up for the Aloha show and didn't look natural I know that Elvis used mascara but the amount of foundation was way too much.

I think there were times in 1974 that Elvis looked as good as in Aloha and even a brief period in 1975. But I agree that 1975 was the last year that he looked really well, by 1976 he looked shocking even when thinner!

Looking at the second picture of Elvis wearing the Chief Jumpsuit, it is hard to believe that the two pictures are 21 months apart

That 2nd pic just does me in to look at Elvis is so big that his face is distorted Even sadder...put it next to a TTWII pic

Close call for me.Maybe it's the camera angles in Aloha. Please dont mistake my next comments as me coming out of the closet. Not that there is anything wrong with that you know.I just think there are some moments in Aloha where the guy is almost beyond belief he's so good looking.I would have to use the word beautiful even though Im ashamed to call a man that I will make an excpetion for Elvis. The guy looked stunning at time in Aloha.

Jak...don't feel funny about that! My Dad was as masculine as they came, went to college on an athletic scholarship. The 1st year we saw him in Vegas Daddy said "I don't mean to sound funny, but that's the most beautiful man I have ever looked at". He went on to say that he thought Elvis was a "perfect physical specimen" Elvis seemed to have a more "dramatic" look in Aloha than he did in TTWII. Older...and more dramatic, if that makes sense?

Hello Moodyblue, perhaps you haven't been on message boards very long but I think you will see that threads tend to weave in and out of topic, however the original post I made did indeed relate to 1977, and then I responded to a direct post!

The ambiance is being spoilt I feel by the multiple posts you have put up making the comments you have I'm sorry you feel the way you do but unfortunately threads are organic things and take on a life of their own. Sometimes, Just sometimes detours can make for interesting reading.

If you have an issue with my comments I would prefer that you stop being sarcastic and PM me.

Dramatic is a good way to put it.I think a little more maturity in his features also.

I don't if any of you know this but Elvis did have a face lift, I think in 1976. That might have something to do why his face looked different. I read that Billy Smith said, "he hated that Elvis had that face lift cause it took away the soulfulness his eyes had, like his mother"
As you could tell from my signature photo, I love the Chief Indian Feather Jumpsuit.
