The hauntingly beautiful ballad, "I'm Leavin'", was released as the "A" side to "Heart Of Rome" in June of 1971. Elvis recorded "I'm Leavin'" on May 20, 1971 at RCA's Nashville studios. The single release had a nine-week stay on Billboard's "Hot 100" chart, peaking at #36. On the Easy-Listening chart, "I'm Leavin'" reached #2.

This song (in my opinion) is a very underrated song...when combined with footage of Elvis's funeral it never fails to make me bawl like a baby....

This song is IMO, one of Elvis's best songs, especially in the 70's. It's simply beautiful to listen to. It deserved to go higher in the charts than it originally did. I agree with Tony; a very haunting ballad...

one of the great underrated classics of the 70s. I wouldn't mind a slight remix to reduce some of the chiming sounds in the background
lovely performance by Elvis and he clearly liked it as it remained on-and-off in his set for several years despite failing to become a hit single

Tony, I agree buddy it definitley is one of the most underrated tunes Elvis recorded.

Those live versions from that spectacular November 1971 tour are absolutley brillaint to listen to, despite not so great sound on alot of those cds.
"How do I get placed in situations like this? Ah hell, I guess it's all part of showbusiness "~ Elvis in his limo on his way to perform in Omaha, NE on June 19th 1977

    Kind Regards,
    Brad
