    haha that's a good one
    you made me laugh Donut

guess in every family is a good a bad and an ugly
It's hard NOT to imagine Elvis as perfect; how else could someone be THAT good looking, THAT talented, THAT generous & THAT charismatic

I know itīs off topic but like you I always found that relation with the Col. strange. It seems to me that the only thing that bothers her is how they all speak of her because I find what the Col. did to Elvis concerning his earnings more abussive and a reason to cut all relations than other things the MM have done.
    Your so very welcome.

Thank you donut for the nice compliment.

I know I think the same way, but then again I think Pris thinks it's more important her image then Elvis's...I really do think that, going by all that she's said and done and how it's always about her and what she went thru, yadda yadda yadda...lol. And yes absolutely in agreement with you, the Col. @ times was way worse for and to Elvis then the MM ever were so I don't get that whole thing w/her.

Billy lives in MS. but not Tupelo. They are divided in terms of how they are looked upon by Pricilla, that's for sure. As for the Col. and Pric. they understand each other perfectly. That was their bond. I mean how can one bash the other when they know they are of the same type.

Thank you MissyM...I'd not heard he was in Tupelo but did hear back in MS...I hope that he has found happiness and peace, he is such a nice man (going by all the interviews I've seen and read). I really really like him and my heart broke when I read what Vernon did then Prissy.
And yes, very well put, I think Col. and Pris were the same in that they want and need that control (well he did while alive). I found it quite humorous (somewhat) when Col. made a statement for the stamp ceremony, he was living in Vegas at the time, he said something to the effect "They say that I exploited him, what I did is nothing compared to what they are doing today." I will have to find the direct quote but to me it spoke volumes.

Yes, what they did to Billy was unfair. How do you treat someone like that who was there to comfort, laugh with, and befriend someone you say you love in the last hours of their life?? That says it all to me when it comes to Pricilla. She let him work at Graceland till, he didn't bow to her. It's disgusting IMO. Billy has Jo, the kids and the grandkids, he is fine.

It's beyond low...the more I hear of her and from her the more I dislike her...I used to think she was great once upon a time...
It is disgusting, shoot first of all, he should have been given a better position then tour guide...he knew that home and it's history helluva lot better then she did....he was around way way way b4 she ever got there...but like you said, he didn't bow down to her and his FACTS clashed w/her PR spin and her attempts to rewrite history, case in point the comments she made on Larry King. LOL

Thank you for the update on Billy that is truly fantastic to hear.

As to Geller. I've not seen him say a bad word about any of them.
He gets a tad melodramatic , but he and Elvis related.
He's someone Elvis wanted in his life. He did less harm than any of them, IMO.
    l agree
    enjoy reading stuff from Geller

My in box is full again. Let me get more coffee and then I will tend to that. It really does my heart good to hear some of the opinions about Billy. I hope to pass them on.

    LOL ok.

I don't know about anyone else but I've always always always liked Billy and when I heard what happened w/Vernon it broke my heart, because no way no way no way would Elvis EVER have even entertained the idea of doing that to Billy...they loved ea. other, like brothers, is the feeling I got. Even in the book and interviews you can truly see Billy's discomfort in discussing the not so good things about Elvis...to me if I had to pick the ONE person who was there for LOVE and nothing else, HANDS DOWN BILLY!

Again thank you so much for updating us on his life now...truly great to hear.

Just a thought and sort of off topic...

I think it would be great for Billy to write a book alone, telling the whole family history and his life w/Elvis from beginning to end...like I said he's the one that knows it all, truly knows it, as he was there b4 anyone else, or anyone that is left that could tell it. You know what I'm trying to convey? LOL

I think it is a great idea. He was going to before Revelations. Now might be a good time but people would say it was to make money off of Elvis. Basically he is in a no win situation. He does talks and that is his way of sharing Elvis.

I wish he would, I wouldn't think that, I think the one's who wrote books for the 30th did it for a buck, and look @ Joe, how many books has he published already?
I seriously think Billy should write his own book, I definately would buy it and defend it and him.
K I take back about the 30th, I don't think Sonny did it for that.

    re

When I look at Larry Geller,I always feel sad for him...how would they spoke about him if Elvis wasn't watching...I don't think he always had a good time.
Does anybody know what Elvis thought about how the other guys were doing to Larry?
I'd like to go to Graceland
    Memphis,Tennessee

    Hi.
Great question, I don't know I've not read anyone address that, except for Larry in his book, but again, it's coming from Larry, so I don't know.
From what I've heard Elvis preferred to avoid problems and issues and usually ignored things, you know the addeage (sp? escapes me at moment lol), ignore it and it will go away, apparently Elvis believed it. So maybe he never did address it or confront the issue? Just a thought.

I agree. Billy is a great guy imo..in the last year or so of Elvis' life Billy was with Elvis 18 to 20 hours a day..that was said by Marty Lacker if you are wondering. Elvis thought very high of him, its ashame Lisa and them don't. Thats a disgrace imo.
"How do I get placed in situations like this? Ah hell, I guess it's all part of showbusiness "~ Elvis in his limo on his way to perform in Omaha, NE on June 19th 1977

    dead on! Go you!
In as much as I love Lisa, that is the one thing that I don't understand, I'm not in her shoes, but to me it would just seem that she would want to know Billy, Billy I think is truly a great source of info on her dad...I understand her anger in what she perceives to be betrayal of her dad, I agree where Lamar is concerned and to a degree Lacker...some things should just be left unsaid, however, I think it's grossy unfair to place it on Billy's doorstep. And if betrayal is the core of it for Lisa, then they did no different then her mom, or anyone else in Elvis' circle who have spoken to the media, or written a book. Yes I agree they tried to take his dignity and that is all he ever wanted, but I think that more applies to comments Lamar made then anything or anyone else, IMO. I wish Lamar no ill will, he just happens to not be on my list of people I like.

Personally I believe there was always factions within the MM, it is just more pronounced now that Elvis is no longer here!

Most of the guys jostled for Elvis' attention and had different elements within their personality that drew them to Elvis.

Lets be honest some of these guys were there to just look after Elvis (Sonny & Red) and the personality traits they had would reflect that. Others were there to take care of the day to day things Elvis needed (Charlie or Joe) and others a more philosophical side (Larry)

So some of these guys were like oil and water but Elvis liked something about them and that's what linked the together.

I think that is a fair assessment...and by their own acct. they had disagreements, etc...so the discord was there, but like you said, Elvis was there to keep it together. I think ea. in their own way was quite lost when Elvis died. I think that in as much as they took care of him, he to in his way, took care of them.
Interesting to me also, is that after marriage Pris had him fire some of those she didn't like and I don't believe Sonny & Red were on that list, but even way back then she had issues w/some of them and she to felt more free to exert her "power" toward those she disliked after Elvis' passing. IMO.

I have heard she did not like Marty Lacker...let me put it this way, a lot shorter, lol, she liked Jerry, Joe, and Sonny, I am not sure about Red. But Sonny covered for her a lot w/Elvis when she was having affairs, and maybe that was also why in the end she turned on him, because he knew too much, you know?
