Jay Z shows Elvis who's gangster

Another artist ties EP. this time it's rapper Jay Z who's new album American Gangster has given him a record tying 10 #1 albums. Tying him with none other than EP. First Garth Brooks outsells him and makes national news because of it. Now a rapper stands equal with him. Sure, in our eyes no one can stand equal to EP. But tell that to the new generation who are more important to know history than past generations. Anyhow here is the article.
Anyone still feel that new EP albums aren't necessary?

    Congrats Jay-Z.....whoever you are.

Tough to churn out new albums when you are dead.

Garth was listed as number one US solo album in the 90s and then Elvis regained that title. Now Garth has it again-its hard to compete with living artists.
We would all love to see "New Elvis albums" but there is just no new material left to make a- true new album. Remixes are not everyones cup of tea and BMG has pretty much made it clear they are not going to actively produce remixes. So its not something that has an easy solution to. Finding Elvis's sales which have not been counted toward his album total in the US would help.
But you can not have new albums which sell big without new material of somekind.

None of these people will ever equal Elvis' success imo. I mean it don't mean much, news like this, Elvis is dead, so its not like he can make new albums and compete with these people..a rapper though, thats depressing

And I'm not sure if Jay-X will be remembered 30 years after his death, and still will be selling albums.....

These rap artists are nothing. Look at Biggie he has been dead 10 years and he makes no where near what Elvis makes. Nobody will ever be as famous as ELvis. Theres Elvis then everybody else.
"When I was a child, ladies and gentlemen, I was a dreamer. I read comic books, and I was a hero in the movie. So every dream that I ever dreamed has come true a hundred times. I learned very early in life that without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend; without a song. So I keep singing a song." - Elvis Presley

Let's see people still buy mass quantities of Jay-Z's records, go in hordes to visit his house, and let him still be a major cultural icon worldwide 30 years after his death. Then we'll talk.
"...You never stood in that man's shoes, or saw things through his eyes, or stood and watched with helpless hands, while the heart inside you dies. So help your brother along the way, no matter where he starts. For the same God that made you made him too...these men with broken hearts." Hank Williams, Sr, as quoted by
