    Elvis boots

I've read that he put lifts in his boots or shoes? I can't even remember where I read that for the life of me. Does anyone know anything about this. Sometimes pictures are confusing when he is standing next to Pricilla. She is tiny and sometimes he looks way taller than her and sometimes not so. I know there is a slight variation in his documented heigth (sp??) but only an inch. But to me it looks like more than an inch in difference in some pictures.

In the photos with Priscilla you must rememeber sometimes she is wearing high-heel shoes. Elvis wore a lot of different shoes. It has been documented that his was 6'2".

I read that one time too...don't remember where though. I sat 6 feet away from him in vegas every summer with my dad who was 6 ft. Daddy said he appeared to be about the same heighth..

    Documented, yes. Accurate, no.

As you said, Tommy, there is another thread about this.

Elvis was not 6'2". His army papers (http://i14.tinypic.com/520vij5.jpg) say 6'.
    He was actually 5' 11.75" (182 cm)

Can't remember where, Getlo you may know, but someplace(Hawaii maybe?) unveiled a "lifesize" bronze statue that was 6'2". We ALL know that was not the case......

Well, it would be lifesize, as the statue has boots like he did in Aloha.

So I'd imagine that it might even top 6'3" ...

True....I just think of lifesize as your actual height. I need to go get my boots on so everyone can say that I am really 5' 9"

No, see the link I posted above.

His army records listed him as 6' even. But this was not the case.

I'd always read that Elvis was 5 foot 11 inches too.

yes several of the books talk about him wearing lifts in his shoes to look taller....

I get the Elvis mags every month, and it has something Elvis filled out, i forgot what, and he wrote he was 5'11......so i have always been confused by his height. I used to think he was 6 ft, but when i read that, i realised he weren't.

So maybe he did wear the lifts later on in life.

As I stated before in another post about this subject, my husband and I saw Elvis very close up in Tahoe. My husband is 5'11 3/4" and Elvis seemed to be the same so my guess is that l/2" either side of 6" even would be close. Too bad I didn't get the chance to put them side by side but it never occurred to me.
