WHY NOT LIKE ELVIS NEVER READ A newspaper in his life? pic is very similar to the one already posted here as many fans were at gates on aug 12--so most of the pics look similar some snaped from the front or side of car..shanty snaped the pic from the side -a side wiew of elvis sitting in the stutz hand up waiving with glasses on so imagine the pics already posted in this topic of elvis look at them now just imagine aside view where elvis was sitting thats what the pic looks like. glad you all like shantys true story no more comments on this story are necessary you either believe it or you dont

    "Great"?

Hardly. And he was wearing a loose tracksuit in this footage.

Elvis' appearance had little, if anything, to do with the jumpsuit!

Again, I ask in which "respectable" magazine did this story end up being published?

I have read and re-read this woman's story four times.

Who allowed her up the driveway? Why was she allowed up the driveway if Elvis was going to come out and sit on the porch? If she couldn't believe it was him right there, why didn't she take any pictures?

No, this doesn't add up at all, and is obviously the production of an overactive imagination of a besotted 16-yeard-old girl.

I'm curious, epmoodyblue, why you would believe such a tale without any proof. Just because this girl said it doesn't make it true.

And how much did you pay for the August 12 photo? Five bucks was it?

well your entitled to your opinion..believe whatever you wish to believe its a true story from a great fan elvis magazine that existed in 78 the name of the magazine which is quite a collectors item these days im sure..and few people today have it as only 8 issues 8x10 in size were published. so its a rare item.name of mag was called ELVIS WORLD MAGAZINE if you have it go to page 17 the fall issue of 1978 then read the story for yourself ..she never said she walked up the driveway..anyways i payed $5.75 in 1978 for the pic and on that page her name and full adress was also listed to order the pic
and thats it bye bye i trust shanty that pic of elvis you all see waiving with lisa and ginger in front seat belongs to her remember there are many versions of that pic as many fans were massed at the gates when elvis showed up so you may see similar pics of it front view side view ..etc. so she wasint the only one who snaped apic of elvis on that occasion on aug 12..simple as that

I'm sorry but I have to agree, it just doesn't make any sense. You say one thing then something totally the opposite the next.

I never suggested that you changed it, nor did I suggest it was your story.

A 16-year-old girl supposedly wrote it. What I suggested is that it is completely untrue.

She may very well have taken that pic; I can't see any reason to doubt that.

But it's obvious that the rest about the porch and driveway is just fan rubbish, a lot of which came out in the aftermath of Elvis' demise.

Including the true story ... of Elvis' sister!

And as for this Elvis World magazine being "respected" ... I assume this is different to Bill Burk's magazine of the same name? If it is, and with just eight issues to its credit, then "respected" is obviously a relative term.

People have away of adding to a story over the years. It can be an honest mistake also with no devious intent. It's just hard to believe that fans were allowed to go partly up the driveway with Elvis just hanging on the front porch. That just wouldnt be allowd to happen. That much I do know.

Does anyone else bust out laughing at the visual in your head of Elvis and Ginger sitting on the front porch reading a newspaper, while fans were inching their way up the driveway?? I wonder if Elvis was like most other men and was reading the sports page first??

Thanks for sharing that story with us, but it still doesn't sound like a true story.

Oh now I'm shamed! I was born and grew up in Canada and I know a few friends here on this site that are still living in Canada and they are not COLD. You've sure lost any credibility with me you might have had.

Sure I'll go along with the photo being taken but the rest of the story...................................
