thanks for sharing your story, but where is this pic you talking about??
so we continue .. my picture arrived back in the mail the first week in september and i couldint believe my eyes.. there sitting next to elvis was in the front seat was ginger and lisa i didint even realize they were there because my eyes were trained on elvis and only elvis my photo had come out perfect....but now it was too late .elvis had died just afew days after we returned home.. and now he would never see the beautiful moment i captured on film.of his daughter and girlfriend in the car.i had planned to send a copy of the pics to elvis..after the shock wore off..i realized that god must have been right beside me that night and that his plans had already been made to take elvis in just 4 short days ..giving me the last chance to to see elvis alive i cant help but wonder from time to time why i was one of the last to take apicture of elvis alive its hard for me to express my feelings whenever i look at my pictures. i didint go back to memphis to view elvis body .because i wanted to remember elvis as most of us do.. and as i saw him that night of aug 12 .. happy waiving to his fans and smiling that beautiful smile ....by shanty parrish of medway ohio...and thats the story behind that pic..all true dont ask questions ifs or buts ..it all happened acept it....well bye bye![]()

epmoodyblue,
With all due respect, you surely must recognize that when we tell people a story that is this intriguing and that many people would be skeptical of (because of the rarity of such an event and not the person sharing the story) that we are going to be asked questions. Telling people not to ask is an unreasonable request.
Please explain as your story is unclear to me. It sounded at first like you were referring to the second pic that was posted here, though you didn't comment on it after it was presented, but then you describe a scenario of pajamas on the porch. And it is not strictly that I am skeptical but that I am simply having trouble figuring out what you are relating to us...Is the story you are telling in the words of your friend or are you speaking in the first person throughout?
At one point you said "no explanations from me about the story or pic are needed" and yet you keep giving your "believers" new little tidbits. Do you have the photo and can you share it or will we just keep getting this story in installments?
...you won't forget me when I go.
the pic im talking about has been posted in this topic by other people..story i wrote is exact words shanty wrote in her article..what more cani tell you..what else can i say? i bought that pic from her i have her old house adress that i used to order the pic but that was 29 years ago she posted it in her add in the elvis magazine in fall of 78..im pretty sure by now she has moved *lol*...who knows..
..thats what she wrote in her article .seeing elvis on the pourch lookin good etc .so i gues we will have to take her word for it..after all she took the pic on aug 12 th ..in the for sale section of the elvis magazine it simply read..for sale beautiful color candid of elvis lisa marie and ginger taken by me in memphis on august 12 77 4 days before his deathavailable in following various sizes up to 8 x10 $5.75

But...which picture is it exactly?
I myself am thoroughly confused as to which picture your friend took and the date???? Elvis sitting on the front porch reading the newspaper in 1977 does not sound right to me....sorry.
Diane
nothing to be sorry about thats shanty's story i worte it as she wrote it 29 years ago..sorry u or others dont believe her true story..well we will leave it at that i just know i bought the pic from her 29 years ago her article apeared in an elvis fan magainze.. just postin what i know bye byepic is similar to the ones posted here of elvis in black outfit hand up waiving to fans with glasses on with lisa and ginger in car..i dont have a scanner or i would have posted it..but its exact outfit just more of aside view of elvis not frontal view and why not dont come and tell me elvis never showed up on his own front pourch .elvis did whatever he wanted whenever he wanted to it was his house..how many people would believe elvis was below the stairways in graceland on the floor.on top of gingers sister playin around right in front of ginger in 77 few would but it happened.. there are pics of that event so accept the story simple as that

I find it a very interesting story...don't know what to believe
I'd like to go to Graceland
Memphis,Tennessee
Well, I'm most definitely convinced ...
... that the porch story is crap.
"It all happened. Accept it." Whew! Where is this woman now, epmoodyblue, do you know at all?
The story about getting the photo is probably true. But the rest? Tell her to call Wanda June Hill.
Getlo - cute'n'cuddly
i just bought the picture from her 29 years ago thats a fact i wrote to her in 78 and ordered the pic..i dont know the lady i have no idea where she is now she was 16 in -1977- i trust her article and pic and believe she did snap those pics --the segment about elvis and ginger on the porch it might have well happened .who knows one day we may get surprised and shanty parrish will enter this forum and explain everything...bye bye
Well, that sure leaves us all up the air doesn't it?
Diane
Can someone please post the Aug.12 pic from the Walk a Mile cd booklet!? I know that was asked on the Indy thread but...![]()
thats okay.. but like i said before i have no scanner or i would have posted the pic a long time ago. i would of also scanned the article from the magazine also.hmm..mabye not because the mag is 30 years old might be worth some bucks today *lol* kidding aside i would of scanned the article for you all-but i think even if i had posted the pic some of you still wouldint believe the story..well thats just the way things are these days many elvis fans believe some things larry geller or other stooges that have written about elvis .many false things..but you all cant believe a simple true story from a simple elvis fan who 30 years ago visited memphis on aug 12 -77 simply snaped a pic of elvis and then wrote about it in an elvis magazine .no big deal at all ..she was just one of those lucky ones who got to see elvis for the last time...its probably the porch thingy that ticks you all off not to believe the story i dunno about that i just posted the story as it was posted in the magazine .. she was 16 years old at the time i hope shanty is still around and can one day clear things up for you all by posting --but i believe her ..i was just one of those who bought the pic from her thats all![]()

"I have learned never to ridicule any man's opinion, however strange it may seem."
Very interesting story..not necessarily believable, but interesting for sure. Really wish you could supply us with the photo though. May help us out. But I'm still having a hard time picturing Elvis sitting on the front porch reading a newspaper..especially not in 1977..

"How do I get placed in situations like this? Ah hell, I guess it's all part of showbusiness "~ Elvis in his limo on his way to perform in Omaha, NE on June 19th 1977
Various members of Elvis' entourage have told stories of him sitting on the front porch in his last years. It has always sounded odd to me because it would have made more sense for him to sit where the fans couldn't see him, by Meditation Garden for instance. One story has Elvis on the front steps, high out of his mind shooting at a tree snake. The recoil of the weapon knocked him to the ground because he was so unsteady. I think this was in the book "Memphis Mafia." Supposedly, somebody lead E back into the house as fans looked on. Another story has Elvis sitting on the front porch in his PJ's and some kids at the gate were calling him fat, which hurt his feelings. Again, this seems odd to me, but there are several of these stories, so perhaps he really did do this. After all, when you're as loaded as Elvis was, well, anything is possible.
"Well, I'm the king o' the jungle they call me the Tiger Man."
Don't know how true those stories are tigerman...me, I don't believe that..
