Thread: If Elvis is still alive today, what do you supposed he will be doing now?

Exclamation If Elvis is still alive today, what do you supposed he will be doing now?

It is pretty hard to imagine how Elvis would look like and what will be his activities if he still alive. Do you think he will still do some performances inspite of his age? Will he retires from public performances and live a private life?

I'd hope he would have found what he was searching for.
Love just as himself, not as Elvis.

Plus enjoying his daughter and grandkids.

Maybe he would still be singing...depends how his health is I guess. His activities? Browsing the net and discovering places like this one: "wow, they still like me!"

I read in an interview with Tom Jones in 2000 that he was certain Elvis would still perform. I think he would, look at the Rolling Stones, they are still on the road.
Maybe he would have done an Unplugged album and do some movies.
I would have love to see Elvis at the Live Aid concert in 1985!

If Elvis was still alive he would still be performing, but not as much. He def would have done the 9-11 concert at the garden. Also be probably would be cutting a few albums.

I learned very early in life that without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend; without a song. So I keep singing a song." - Elvis Presley

I'd agree with everything posted but i also would like to think he got a chance to do some serious or comedic acting roles. I often though Elvis would have been great in a role like Hawkeye from Mash.

Or Elvis as Al Bundy in 'Married With Children", he'd liked that I think

Assuming he was healthier, I seriously doubt that Elvis would be in seclusion. Elvis loved being ELVIS! I don't know if he would be performing in large venues, would he do television? He definitely would not be doing Letterman or Leno, IMO. I would so hope he would actually have sat down to write a book. It seemed that he did like to embellish his stories, and he did like to twist the facts just to keep the journalists off balance. I think that if he could have had his way, he would sing whatever he wanted without worrying about publishing rights, which seemed to limit him a whole lot. I would also like to think that Elvis and Lisa would be a songwriting & singing team!

Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go

I think for one in 1982-1984 I believe if he was still alive would have shaved his sideburns and went to wearing really nice clothing/spots jackets and suits. I think Jumpsuit thing would be over with. I think he would be singin hits from today because people would have gone to him. I would love to see him sing Mr. Bojangles, or "Its Goodbye Time" by conway twitty. And many others.

    Love to all,

I can think of 2 Conway Twitty songs that he would have been wonderful with.....
    1. You've Never Been This Far Before
    2. I'd Love To Lay You Down

It gives me me goosebumps to think of Elvis and those lyrics.

IMO, it is really difficult to imagine what a picture of our pop culture would have looked like during the 80's and 90's because Elvis did his own thing and didn't follow his peers and because we are trying to figure out what 'style' he would have chosen based on what his peers chose. I think that whatever style of clothing or music he would have adopted had he lived longer, it wouldn't be anything that we could predict (although it is entertaining to throw ideas around!!) and it would have been something that would have re-written the history books again just as in 1954, 56, 60,68,69,70, 73 (and all of the years in between) and so forth. And Elvis didn't want to copy anyone in style nor music. And more importantly than style, whatever music he could have or would have chosen, it would have been purely Elvis, because, as he is known to have said "I don't sound like anyone."

No matter what, he would still be singing that's for sure !

he could be in jail because of killing M.J. and every impersonators he saw...

I think he'd still be wondering what all the fuss is about.
Let's hope he'd still have his sense of humor to put up with us all.

Had Elvis survived he would certainly have kept on singing even if it was just for personal pleasure. Elvis loved ballads and of course a little bit of rock 'n' roll for good measure.

I'm certain he would have moved away from the jumpsuits and gone for a more sedate but equally Elvis type of fashion. As for performance, I'm sure he would have carried on for a while longer, the 80's saw the ushering in of MTV and video to promote music acts, I'm sure he would have used this medium in some way and perhaps used this to increase record sales and then perhaps toured less.

One thing is for certain the lifestyle he lived lead to his untimely demise, he would have had to change pace to re-energize himself.

I believe that eventually he would have dumped both the colonel and his producer Felton Jarvis, and moved in a new direction of music, sort of like Johnny Cash did in his later years.

I also believe that he would have another resurgence sort of like Tony Bennett had in the early 90's, but I agree, I don't know if it would have been with Felton Jarvis or Col. Parker.
