I think not.
During the early stage of Elvis career there were some clamors for him to run for President. Although, this may sound like a big joke to a lot of people, do you think Elvis can be a good President inspite of his lack of proper education ? (just for discussion purposes only)![]()
There were several presidents that had no formal education.
{and some it didn't help ,anyway.}
I just don't think his personality would exactly work in that office .
It might be fun to imagine though.
Bill Clinton was/is a big Elvis fan.
No, he would not have made a good president. He would need some sort of education and maybe had he gotten into politics in another form and "worked" his way up - learning as he went.
It is hard to tell since the only "political" stuff he ever did was the song In the ghetto...a social program working as a "helping hand" for ghetto kids could have been great
In term of popularity I think he would have had good chances to be elected, with a proper program...But anyway, Elvis never was really interested in politics, right? And I don't think people would have taken it seriously, they would have asked stuff like "can you sing something please?" during meetings![]()
100% yes! Bush never had any education (I think) and Arnold Schwarzenegger is governor of the state of California and Ronald Reagan was an actor so yes, I believe
he could have been president.
"Here's to our wives and girlfriends...may they never meet!".
Groucho Marx
No I don't think Elvis had the personality for a president, but he would have made a heck of an evangelist!
Diane
Yes, yes, yes!
I don't think he would have cared to be a politician, it would have limited him in what he could actually accomplish, I do see him as a lobbyist, he had firm convictions & he certainly had the power of persuasion! As far as education goes, I don't see how that has anything to do with the office of the Presidency, they have a staff to handle legal issues, foreign issues, speech writers. . . And frankly I don't know where some of these nuts got their education -but that's another thread!
Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go
An evangelist?? Two of them just knocked at my door a few hours ago, and no, I don't think Elvis was like that...Ok he was very religious, but he respected what other people believed and didn't try to convert them.
I do not think Elvis would of been happy in the political area.. he would not even make a comment on the draft or his army time.
I would vote for himhe could do just as good as some of the presidents we have had.

I meant a preaching evangelist Pauline, like Marjoe Gentner....I don't think I have that spelled right, not the door-to-door religious people.
Diane
Both Bushes went to Yale. Schwarzenegger went to the University of Wisconsin. Reagan went to Eureka College in Illinois.
And the thought of Elvis as president is frightening. I don't think Elvis was stupid by any means, but I don't think he had the temperament - AT ALL - to be a president. Much of politics is but-kissing, patience, strategy, the ability to negotiate, decisiveness. I don't think Elvis had these qualities.
Elvis seemed to be a pretty straight forward guy. Not something I associate with politicians.
I don't think Elvis would have liked being a president-its much more fun to be King.![]()
I don't think Elvis would be happy being president either.
I can see him more as a "minister to the people" in some fashion.
How about a movie.....where he plays the part of the president.![]()
Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.

Eh no. According to the views he expressed privately I don't think he would have made a good president!!! He wasn't a fan of the womens movement or of women talking about Politics!
