Is this pictures from 1969 ?, i am just a little unsure because i think Bob Lanning is playing drums there, and he was playing the first and second tour in 1970, not i 1969

this is still the best variation of the jumpsuit he wore and my favorite! he should have worn black more often the the white jumpsuits,but i know the white jumpsiuts were easier to photograph.does anyone know if the black full bodie jumpsuit really existed and did he ware it during the Feb 1970 engagement?

Elvis was obviously in top form when he wore this, i think he looks great, like a real tiger, and although its simple, you definately wouldnt want to mess with him- hes evil man!!! lol lol, I really love some of the earlier stage costumes like this and the ones from TTWII! woop woop!

This is THE sexiest thing he ever wore!!!!!!!!! Although white is a better stage color, no one will argue that he didn't look absolutely awesome in this suit!!!!!!!!!!! Not only his perfect build contributed to this awesome suit, his powerful, almost animialistic strut and that very obvious sexuality in his attitude made for a perfect fit!!! I cannot believe that he wasn't aware of any of this when he strutted out on stage!!!!!!!

No the drummer is definetely Ronnie Tutt. Bob Lanning did not sport a beard and never used 2 bass drums with Elvis. Definetely 1969 pics.

how many versions of the black herringbone do exist?

on some pics, one can clearly see a kind of colored insertion in the bell-bottoms' pleats (red, sometimes with a golden hue due to the spotlights), and sometimes the pants seem to be competely black. either no insertion / pleat at all, or a black one? are these 2 different suits?

One of the black two-piece outfits had green kickpleat inserts, for sure. I vaguely recall he also had one with blue inserts, but my memory could be faulty on that point. But green...yeah, for sure (worn with a green scarf). Again, from memory (my materials on such matters have been in storage for a long time), I think he wore the black suit with green godets for the dinner show of August 7 (and, obviously, for others).

I agree with you Liz!!!!! He was very SEXY in this suit. And he was sooo thin. Amazing... What a pity there are no footages from that time, in good quality.
