So many touching songs. Every time I hear them I get so sad thinking about Elvis` life. Even though I just love them all, my favorite is It`s Midnight! When ever I play it I just close my eyes and imagine him singing it. So powerful ! If you never noticed thats why I chose my name midnight!

Elvis had a truly special gift at emoting a song - whether it be a serious song or a not so serious one and everyone has a favorite. I recall the first time being seriously moved by his music when I heard Bridge over Trouble Water - TTWII. I can recall seeing the perfomance and wanting to hear it again and again. I recently learned that when he first sung this on Aug. 10, 1970, he moved the audience as well as his back-up singers, to tears (I have not seen any film of this particuliar performance, though), in particuliar, Paul Simon, the author of this song. That's truly special!!! The only performance I have seen of TTWII is the one from the Dinner Show on Aug. 11th, the following night. I also read that each time he performed this song, he sang it a little bit different, but no less moving. But Bridge Over Trouble Water will always be my favorite, among so many!!!!!!

"More people today should see him not simply as a performer, but as an artist with a great soul."

The way he sang, "Husky Dusky Day", was very moving to me.

I think of two songs that could sum up Elvis' life.

    -"Pieces Of My Life"

    -"My Way"

Song's that expressed what he was going through is another thing.

    -"Momma Like the Roses",

    -"Separate Ways"

    and believe it or not
I sometimes think his inner personality fit the song,

-"King Of The Whole Wide World".

There are sooooooo many moving Elvis songs... for me the most touching one is 'My Boy' it was the very first Elvis song I ever heard when I was a child- and it was during the time my parents got divorced , so it will always have a special place in my heart & make me cry every time I hear it .

I love "Always On my Mind" it really gets to me, it seems to reveal what is on his mind at the time, after his split from Pricilla.

I'll Remember You - I love the MSG Afternoon version - as my daughter
    would say "total bedroom voice!"
Do You Know Who I Am
    Don't Cry Daddy
These three for sure, but there are many many more!

Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go
