You could very well be right Getlo but all I had to go by was the interview I saw and I said "seemed", I wasn't passing a judgment set in stone.

Yeah, and I'm sure Elvis was with her because he really loved her ... right?
The point is, you can't judge Sheila by this one interview - that's like judging Elvis by, say, the footage from his drug-addled Aloha press conferences. In other words, it's unfair.
Perhaps she's shy? Uncomfortable being interviewed? Maybe it was recorded at the end of a bad day? As far as I know, this is the only recorded interview with her about Elvis.
By all accounts, from people who were there at the time, Sheila Ryan was bright and funny. She never had any illusions about being a great love of Elvis' ... far from it in fact.

I know the MM really liked her and they said she wasn't one of the gold digging ones...that he had to practically force her to take his gifts...which they liked about her. She knew that their relationship was just a "thing" until he got tired and knew he was not going to be faithful....she did not make any demands from him in that area - which is another thing the MM liked about her....she knew the score from the get go......
She just doesn't look like Elvis' type.
She was female, cute and had a pulse.
Ergo, she was Elvis' type!
Despite his seeming obsessions with Debra Paget, Cilla, Ginger et al, Elvis didn't have a certain type of woman anyway.
Just look at the wide variety of women Elvis bedded and had relationships with: different looks, personalities etc.
There was no specific type he liked.

she was just another girlfriend.
she was just another piece of *** is more like it.....unfortunately, that is what Elvis seemed to mostly be about in the beginning. BUT, there are stories from ex girlfriends that toward the end - they would wind up just talking most of the time - he just wanted that female companionship in bed with him - not sexually. Which makes me think back to him sleeping with his mom for so long - do you think he needed that comfort in his life? (no I don't mean sexually with his mom either).....just wondering.....he loved his mom so much and it hurt him so bad when she died.....I wonder if him needing a woman in his bed with him while he slept - if it stems back to that? And the fact he would have horrible nightmares & sleep walk. Sort of like he was afraid of sleeping alone since childhood.
Sorry this got off the Sheila Ryan topic didn't it.....oops....![]()
No, that's unfair.
Elvis chased a lot of tail, especially in the early years, and there were more than a few one-nighters.
But he was with Sheila on and off for 18 months or so. She was with him in the recording studio, he introduced her as his girlfriend from the stage many times, had her at Graceland etc.
Much more than a piece of *** I'd say.

No, it wasn't nice. It was kind of pathetic, actually ...
You're the first one to jump up and down to scream blue murder when anyone unfairly runs down Elvis, yet you do exactly the same to people who don't meet your standards.
Elvis chose to be with her. So if she's "trashy", what does that make him??
Getlo - cute'n'cuddly
whats so special about this woman you need to defend??
Perhaps the question should be, what's so special about the likes of cameron that they can run Sheila down based on nothing but an interview, and presumably jealousy that Elvis was with her?
As I said previously, I don't know Sheila Ryan from Eve. Obviously, everyone has different opinions about her. But what really gets my goat is the arrogance of posters who take the piss out of certain Elvis people but then get all offended when someone says something critical of their precious Elvis.
The whole "Sheila must have been on drugs" part of this thread sickened me.
Pathetic, as I said ...![]()

Too many people that worship the ground Elvis walked on. THAT is what is pathetic. It clouds any clear, rational thinking when it comes to subjects such as this - or his competition, or his falacies, or just about anything that relates to him.
It's interesting to watch how people react, when they're treated the same way they treat others .
Psych.101 .Interesting reactions.
Sheila, on the other hand appears to be her own person .
I'd say she can take care of herself...unlike Elvis who is dead.

Yes, well....after all, I guess we can choose : To like her or not.
Can't argue about human tastes![]()
Some like her and some don't, you can't change how people feel about things.
