Exclamation Is there an official count for all Elvis recorded songs?

I have read several books on this subject but never found the official count for all Elvis recorded songs including those released through bootleg records. I was wondering how many exactly the number of Elvis recorded songs.

The RIAA has a searchable database on their site which lets you know the status of any song.

700 + songs that were recorded - including the ones on 'homerecordings'
800 + if you include those that he sang that has no officiall recording yet to surface.

Graceland and EPE are rarely correct with this sort of thing.

Sorry, but rocknroll is correct: the list you posted is out of date. And, as I stated, the number of concerts was wrong as well ...

In "the *****s Guide to Elvis" they say official releases are 709.
In a paper on line which compares the careers of Elvis and Bing Crosby, the total is given as 665.

  15. #15
KPM is that a reliable figure 709 or the 665? Thanks

  16. #16

  17. #17

Hi LisaRose, couple of years ago I did a little project to make a folder on my pc with an mp3 of every seperate song Elvis recorded based on "Elvis: His Life From A-Z" and theres 687 in there. This doesn't include different versions of individual songs just different individual songs. I believe there might be a few more out there. Elvis_Priestly
A while back I asked the same question - how many songs did Elvis sing, I remember that in the Aloha Concert someone yelled for Elvis to sing all his songs & he answered back, 'Sure, all 476 of them' (or something similar). Also a song lyric website lists that there are 836, but a lot of them are different versions of the same song. I'm hoping someone has an accurate number!

Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go
