Thread: Was Elvis more gorgeous in Person

Gosh, you both are so lucky!!! My parents saw him in Houston, Lake Charles and Alexandria, Louisiana but unfortunately Alexandria was towards the end and it wasn't his best concert.

In an interview Jerry Reed spoke of meeting Elvis the first time and he said Elvis was the best looking man he ever met up close. (Jerry qualified that by saying he was a straight man who loved woman- but Elvis was just good looking.)

What was the date in Houston? Ask your Mom and find out. I am 99.9% sure that Gail would have been there also.

I think they went to Houston in 75. My mom says she remembers that they was so much traffic and gas was scarce. I don't think that they saw him prior to 74, though.

He did mention at the rodeo in 74 about the shortage of gas and thanked everyone for coming out with all that going on.

I saw Elvis in person in Nov. '76. He was absolutely the most gorgeous man that I have ever laid eyes on! Yes, he was even more handsome in person, if that is even possible. I was about 6 feet from him and even though he only had 8 months left, all other men pale in comparison to his astonishing good looks. I don't know how anyone could be as handsome as he was. There will never be another, that's for sure. I have also heard others such as Cilla and his co-stars say that he was even more gorgeous in person.
Elvis is the only man that I know of that other men can say is good-looking and not get ridiculed for it.

I read in one photobook, that he was handsome beyond jealousy. What a great way to phrase it. So how did he smell? Was he wearing Brut?

Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go

whereas i hope i would be as calms and gracious as the little 4 yr old, i'm afraid i would've been the girl in the blue dress with the bow in her hair - crying, grabbing & making an utter fool of myself!
I love this clip! I think I was a mixture of both..on the inside I was feeling like the hysterical girl, but on the outside I think I was stunned. I know this probably sounds strange...but when he had your hand in his and your other hand actually on him, it was a feeling that he really was larger than life, NOT just a man. It's hard to explain...but you felt like he was 20 feet tall with an incredible aura around him.

That is a question that I really can't answer. He was covered in sweat. Also....I think that I literally didn't breathe in those moments..if I had I might have ended up like the hysterical girl.

It would have been wonderful to see Elvis as an older man.

Imagine how distiguished looking he would be!

He was so concerned about getting older, but men aging, if their lines on their face are right, (being caring people) look their best.

    Hear this E? lol

I've heard that he usually used "Jovan Musk " in 70's ! But I'm sure such a graceful man didn't need any perfume !! his natural fragrance was sexy enough !!
