So, is it all that you've hoped for? There was a lot of speculation about this recording that 'was not thought to be preserved'.

    Thumbs up

Well I must admit - I was betting on a show from 1972, so it looks like I was wrong Hopefully that will come next?

Nevertheless, this will be an EXCELLENT release too - just look at the song list!

    This is one great release!

We knew a soundboard existed, because three songs from this concert allready appeared on the import: Opening Night 1972, those were: Mystery Train/Tiger Man, Help Me Make It Through The Night and a rare solo version of Softly As I Leave You.

The particular concert features Elvis in a very funny mood. It's the concert that (as they say) had Elvis in a bed (!) on stage, while singing What Now My Love, while making insinuating gestures with the microphone.
The part where he sings Bridge over the uptempo melody of Suspicious Minds is really great fun!

It will most definately be great to hear. I have to say out of all the years people thought would be released in this FTD, I don't remember many people saying 1973. This of course is also infliuenced by Ernst' remarks about the concert being thought to not have survived the years. It does lift the expectation level a whole lot!

I'm with Big Boss....I was really expecting a show from 1972!!! I'm a little confused as to why FTD is releasing another show from 1973, considering TAKIN' TAHOE TONIGHT came out not too long ago!

I agree this is a rare show, and it will certainly be AWESOME to hear the entire show in soundboard quality!! Can't wait for this one!!!

    Hi Paulie,
You should need no convincing on this one. A totally fascinating concert.

Arjan Deelen admitted in an EIN interview, in March 2002, that this soundboard existed and he obviously would have liked it to come out with his excellent "Caught In A Trap" photo book.

Check out 2 photos from the FTD cover plus why Elvis was in a mood - Plus an excellent review by Anne E Nixon who was at the concert.
You will really want to get buy it when you read the review!

    Go to Closing Night.

    and Concert Review

also try Caught In A Trap - Book Review

    Cheers
    Piers
