Are you really this ignorant, or just have a hard time comprehending things in general ???
re-read my reply, nice and s-l-o-w-l-y and you may just learn sumthin' before shooting off at the mouf ...
They had also been divorced for almost 4 years when Elvis passed away.Cilla deserves to have the last name Presley because she was married to him.
She was not his widow, get it ?
I assume not since you already have a hard time eating reality and have other issues ...![]()
A hit record is any song that "hits" the top 40. A major hit is anything that makes the top 10, etc. Elvis had several "hits" in those 7 years. They don't all have to go to number 1.
By Lakeisha's, and ABC's, definition, Elvis only had 18 hit records out of 700 or so recorded. Not very good.![]()
She was talkin about him havin a successful string of hits that were actually relevant to what was goin on in that time.
Elvis had chart success durin that period, but he didn't have #1 hits like The Beatles or Stones did. He was basically a soundtrack artist at that time.
That was why he left the movie scene.
I'm no historian to Elvis' career, but I know enough from readin and learnin about him, as Beyonce said she did.
I know he didn't have a US #1 between 62 and 69. That's 7 years, and that was what Vargas was referrin to.
Oh, so I guess great records like (You're The) Devil In Disguise, (#3), Bossa Nove Baby, (#8), Crying In The Chapel, (#3), If I Can Dream, (#12) are not relevant just because you think they aren't ?
These records all sold million(s) of copies. Still not relevant ?
Viva Las Vegas has the distinction of being not only a "Hit" record, but a single that never got higher than #21 on the Billboard chart, yet, still sold a million records and is now, still, considered a "Classic" ...
Let's not forget, a #1 record is not always indicitive of quality and/or merit.
Again, trying to erroneously re-write history to benefit your own misguided and ill-informed views ...That was why he left the movie scene.
I've known that for a long time ...I'm no historian to Elvis' career
Actually, if you count, the years, 1963 thru 1968, (the years between '62 thru '69) are 6 years, not 7 !!!I know he didn't have a US #1 between 62 and 69. That's 7 years,
