I'm anything but a hurt puppy, and not even trying to be....just trying to defend my position and that of my friend who started this thread. Sorry if you don't understand that. I don't understand why you insist on posting in a thread you obviously don't like and are making fun of the rest of us who are posting on here. That is all I'm trying to do........what are your motives?
Thanks everyone for your replies. I appreciate your participation. But, it's ok to let this thread end now![]()
This ^^^ is exactly what I was referring to yesterday...the fighting and bickering and ******** between members of the boards on a public forum....if you're gonna argue please take it to PM's...this is ridiculous!!
I agree...let's drop it and MOVE ON!!
My motives are simple:
Here we have a forum to discuss quite possibly the greatest entertainer in history and instead of discussing his music, impact on other performers, influence not only in music but cultural history, instead of discussing all of that , certain members on here would rather talk about Elvis' under arm and nutt sweat odor. Not only is it sad and disgusting, but is an insult to intelligent people everywhere. Amazing!
manic depression[bi polar] doesnot mean you have to have to be crying when your low, the extreme highs that he had , and the spending sprees[another clear indicator] and being grandiose- thinking he was a cop at times , when he stopped those two guys that were fighting at a gas staion, pulling a couple over in late 76 in memphis for speeding, his irratic high durring the 76 december tour. extremes of energy- billy smith attested that E.P. was wired to the wall , when he was going out and riding the trikes in late summer 77,, the fact that he ws suffering from all these things combined siound like a person who has bipolar disorder.just my opinion though.
I see this thead is an Eye sore opener to some you fans, you don't liked don't read or posting on here.
I know about it this thing with Elvis not bathing that last years, we needed keep opening mind that he wasn't well that time and I know that meds can make some person stop bathing at times, I went thru that one year I didn't bath everyday, it's how my mood was from the meds I was on that time and I stop eating that time too I lost 50 lbs in 6 months I was at 175 lbs that time and I went down to 125 lbs that's was in 2000 m y meds have some part with it and I got hurt or have broken heart that time, now I got great wife and daugther and step-daugther, and I'm over 200 lbs now, and i'm slowing losting the lbs again.
With Elvis he was ill that time and we never what he real had, we know he die with heart problem do with pills he taking
so that's I have to say
and one more we needed stop fighting in the theads, Let's Be Friends
Tom
I've neither insulted, nor been rude to anyone. You read too much into this and need to get some thicker skin...period. I simply posted an opinion aimed at NO ONE and immediately had 3 posters call me out. Now THAT is uncalled for.
The only thing offensive is the topic of the thread. The truth hurts.![]()
He sure attracted some beautiful women to have been so unclean.
Perhaps he felt as long as he had no actual dirt, etc. on him, he didn't need more than a wash-up.
And I don't care if his cousin, uncle, or whoever said whatever it was that was said, how did they know what he was doing behind the closed door of his bed/bathroom?
I mean, he did have a shower in there.
I have 2 grown children that still live at home and I can assure you they have no idea what I am doing in my bed/bathroom.
I do not announce when I am going to clean myself, and I am sure that most of us do not.
...you're moving on the back roads, by the rivers of my memory and for hours you're just gentle on my mind.
i saw Elvis taken a shower in Gi blues & Live a little, Love a Little and a dive from a cliff in Fun in Acapulco and from his own pool, so Elvis is pretty clean to me ;-)
I really don't think elvis was unclean to say the least. Bunch of gossip l think someone started.
I've read it as well in several books along with him taking a pill that combated body odor...I dont know wasn't there, but I always consider the source of such things, I mean look at the men who are saying this?
Lisa said it well when she stated that all Elvis had and all he ever wanted was his dignity and these men by saying these things were attempting to take that away from him.She also said that she remembered him always smelling good. I've also heard this from a man who was close to Elvis.
I think that this topic is or should not be any of our business, what he did or did not do in his private life should be just that, private, I don't think any of us would want such things discussed about us when we're no longer here to defend, in a 100 years who cares, but right now w/his family still around to see/hear this I don't think it is a good topic. None of these are indicators of bipolar disorder, rawkinlvs / memphis77.
Have you known anyone with this condition at all? I have, and believe me, Elvis showed no serious signs of this affliction.
The spending sprees were a combination of his generous spirit, and his somewhat child-like innocence in wanting to make people happy. He had the money to spend, and spent it. Nothing more.
Same with the gas station thing. Elvis never believed he was a cop; he just got off on his badges, the uniforms etc.
As for Billy's comment that Elvis was wired: no doubt, on his "medications". Had Elvis actually been bipolar, he would have gone completely nuts after only a few years in the public eye, with all that pressure from fans and hangers on.
Getlo - cute'n'cuddly
TRUE TRUE TRUE all you said.
I also get somewhat miffed when I read or hear people speak about how much he spent...so what? If he spent every last dime so? He earned it, it was his blood, sweat and tears, and ultimately his life, that he gave to his art, to his fans and yes to those cloesest to him...so if he wanted to stand on the wall of Graceland and toss his money out, again I say so what? He didn't need to leave anything for anyone in my opinion and maybe if he hadn't there wouldnt be all this division and bs w/those close to him...JMO Also I once heard Paul McCartney say that he wasn't going to leave anything to his kids because he wanted them to know what it was to work for something...can't say I disagree w/that.
LOVE Rod Stewart, he gave us a choice @ one of his concerts (I've been to his other's) but this particular one he gave us a choice if we wanted to hear Maggie Mae or Do You Think I'm Sexy and we chose Maggie, to which he said he was happy because he didn't really want to do Do You Think I'm Sexy lol, sorry just a little sidenote.![]()
