I don't understand why this is brought out so much negativity? I've also heard this about Elvis....it's okay to discuss his death and discuss what caused it - but it's not okay to discuss rumors of his hygiene? Vissie heard or read same thing I did....AND....someone did post on this site in one of the forums a comment about it. So why attack the subject? If you do not like the subject - by golly - don't comment on it and ignore it. Simple. This forum is to discuss ALL THINGS ELVIS. Nobody is attacking Elvis - just making observations on the different aspects of his life........once again....if you don't like the topic - don't post a comment and move on to another. I love everything about Elvis and have since a child (I am 40 now) so it's not about attacking the man....we are all here because of our love for him......but can't we discuss issues like adults? Some of you get so darn offensive sometimes it's crazy because it is rude. There are some topics in the forum that I don't care for - so I move on to another.....it's very easy to do...............
I wasnt going to comment on this thread but I might as well toss my two cents in.This bit of disturbing info about Elvis didnt come from a tabloid rag but from Billy Smith who was Elvis' cousin among a few others..He was with Elvis more than anyone at the end.I dont think anybody else came close.If im not mistaken he said Elvis would even get in his bed to sleep with him on occassion.Billy Smith is no liar.What disturbs everyone so much is that the reality of Elvis' world is so far removed from the image of the "king".These revelations shouldnt lower anyone's opinion of Elvis.They do illustrate that he was in serious trouble.

I just shared the following private thoughts with a friend here and I would like to share them with you now.
My question regarding his hygiene came from an innocent and honest place. I was reading that his personal cleanliness was very poor in his last years and I merely wanted to see if anyone else had read the same thing. The doctors in my family say that people who are very sick do not bathe or cleanse themselves as the pain and exhaustion (from dealing with the pain) takes precedent over washing. My heart truly goes out to Elvis.. I feel so sorry for him. He must've been in agony and yet he kept trying so hard to please his fans.

Bipolar running in my famliy, one my sister got and it hard to live with, I know that fact.
When My Father was ill from Liver cancer back in 1994, he smell bad, it's not he was bathe, His stmotch was wasn't working right too he had to drink this stuff it's smell and went he go to bathroom, it's smell bad, after be there with my fathers last weeks his life. I been thinking if Elvis did have Bone cancer or some kind cancer.
We never know that in fact way. we can talk about it what real happened that last year his life.

Thank you Jak for clearing this up.....I hope others realize we are not attacking Elvis...just discussing.....good grief if we didn't love him we would not be here at all...and we would not sit at our computers for hours during tcb radio listening to Elvis....for hours.........(not to mention in my car and at work on my computer....and at home on my computer.....you get the idea.....)
There one time Elvis was at Football game in memphis, he coming out of men room and one person say I didn't know you do that. It's shock Elvis . because he talk about it at one his show in August 75.
Elvis is liked us, he does go liked us, there fans had him liked one of gods , we needed to know he was like us once, now we can put him upthere with gods. Tom

I have never heard this rumor (or fact), I have just read somewhere that he always smelled goooood lol...I don't remember in which book it was but there was a girl fan who met him backstage in 1972 and she said that he always smelled good. That's all I have heard for now..
This one is new to me.
Maybe he was just lazy or not feeling good and he didn't take baths very often, but I doubt because he looks like a clean guy

He was at the end of his concert, wearing a jumpsuit, under stage lights - a normal person would sweat under the circumstances. I just feel this was a bad point to make
