Exclamation Strictly for male only: What attracted you most to Elvis?

I believe Elvis was the very first singing idol that catch the fancy and adoration both male and female fans. Very few have successfully achieved this kind of feat. What attracted me most to him is his unique look, distinctive style of singing, close relation with his fans, humbleness and his image as a perfect and original singing idol of all times. Having female fans going crazy for him was never hard to imagine than male fans doing the same

Well.its kinda weird.adoring another male.but I do..Elvis to me is what every male should be.just perfect..
his unique style and voice, and his supreem looks and his personality are faultless.
I think he is what every boy wishes he would grow up to be..I have been an Elvis fan since I can renenber, and I dont care if anybody thinks that I am weird,I know Im not..
I think if every male was honest they too would say they wish they were like the king.

Some have said that it was down to his looks, bit this isn't true. It's not that Elvis got succesful by just looking good and paled vocally compared to Roy Orbison, whom people don't find very attractive.

Anyway: although I'm a gay person, my object of desire is Billy Gilman and not Elvis Presley, lol! I like/liked Elvis because he had the sound of a past seemingly distant, although it was just a few years or decades before my date of birth.

His voice and jumpsuits. His looks dont say nothing to me because I dont think that any man is handsome. Only myself of course. LOL
"When I was a child, ladies and gentlemen, I was a dreamer. I read comic books, and I was a hero in the movie. So every dream that I ever dreamed has come true a hundred times. I learned very early in life that without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend; without a song. So I keep singing a song." - Elvis Presley

Elvis Presley was not perfect, not by a long shot.

No one is ... and why should every male be so?

You won't get any arguement from any woman on that LOL! I know, I know, no women's opinion wanted on this one. I'm only posting a quote from a book I own. Elvis Presley: The Rebel Years.
In a preface, Lester Bangs (a writer for the Village Voice) writes:

" I got taken too* the one time I saw Elvis, but in a totally different way. It was the autumn of 1971, and two tickets to an Elvis show turned up at the offices of Creem magazine, where I was then employed. It was decided that those staff members who had never had the privilege of witnessing Elvis should get the tickets, which was how me & art director Charlie Auringer ended up in nearly the front row of the biggest arena in Detroit. Earlier Charlie had said, "Do you realize how much we could get if we sold these f*****g things?" I didn't, but how precious they were became toally clear the instant Elvis sauntered onto the stage. Elvis was the only male performer I have ever seen to whom I responded sexually; it wasn't real arousal, rather an erection of the heart, when I looked at him I went mad with desire and envy and worship and self-projection."

[* Mr. Bangs had announced that Elvis had died to a stranger at a deli counter & was told 'so what, I'm glad, last concert I took the wife too, we got taken! (by a bad performance)]
Again, my apologies for the intrusion!

Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go

Basically he was just cool. Who doesn't want to be the rebel ? When I was younger they played his movies all the time on TV, particularly the early ones.
In the movies he was cool, he kicked A$$ when he got in fights (which was a big plus) and always got the hot chick. Then I found out he pretty much did the same in real life and had great music to boot.

He kinda filled up that emptiness James Dean left behind after his death. James Dean was the first rebel teenager, unless I'm very much mistaken - I'm sure Elvis thought his movies are pretty cool.

Later River Phoenix supposedly took that 'Dean' kinda role - but now there's seemingly no one around to play the confused, angry young man who is no good according to some, LOL! Though Elvis didn't look 'all confused and ashamed of everything' it's not a strange parallel, I think.

I think I can do a lot but don't intend on getting the chick, really.

It was the pictures of Elvis in his underpants at his army medical that did it for me....lol

The voice and feeling in it I heard his voice before I saw who he was. Everyone has someone who they look up to, he was cool.

The answer is simple: HIS VOICE. HIS STYLE. HIS WAY TO PERFORM.

To me Elvis was the greatest entertainer ever. He had such a unique way to communicate with his fans. His voice is one of the most beautiful and versatile I have ever heared and I simply like the kind of music he made.

Thats enough to me to be a fan.
