"When I was a child, ladies and gentlemen, I was a dreamer. I read comic books, and I was a hero in the movie. So every dream that I ever dreamed has come true a hundred times. I learned very early in life that without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend; without a song. So I keep singing a song." - Elvis Presley

Big Hunk of Love
I agree KC! I love how he sings these songs..
Riley, you've picked some of my favorites too!
Raised, I don't believe I've heard Mystery Train, Stranger in My Own Home Town or Tomorrow is a Long Time(?) What time period are they from?
Vissie,
These are three of the greatest performances Elvis ever put on record, something fans and critics and non fans agree on. Stop what you are doing right now and go find those songs.
Mystery Train - universally proclaimed as his greatest Sun recording and one of the greatest recordings in rock and roll.
Stranger in My Home Town - one of the highlights of the 1969 American recordings. Get both the master and the alternate take.
Tomorrow is a Long Time - another stand out recording from the mid '60's written by Bob Dylan - who proclaimed it the best cover of one of his songs he had ever heard - Believe it was released on the Spinout soundtrack as a bonus song.
Mystery Train can be found on any of the Sun compilations and Stranger in My Home Town master can be found on any of the 1969 American Sound Studio compilations.
King Creole - give some more specifics on where these great songs can be found.
too much to say..
today I say:
If I can dream
Devil in disguise
Little Sister
