"this is the only way it could be!"
I am not saying that I- am saying it is the conlusion I have come to from my reading and listening. It seems logical from what is available knowledge.
I agree with you! I haven't drawn any real conclusions just yet

I got the book today and something jumped out at me: according to the book, there was a cranial autopsy performed....the reason I find it so intriguing is that I was under the impression that they never examined Elvis's brain during the autopsy...you never hear that mentioned in any other books...

They would have been looking for stroke evidence most probably, since a stroke can trigger a heart attack and by the same token a heart attack can trigger a stroke.
But i did find this interesting piece of information on "cranial autopsy"
    10. Can a cranial autopsy be performed?
There is much confusion with this statement. There is no such thing as a cranial autopsy because an autopsy is to determine the cause of death. What the family is requesting is a neurological diagnosis whereupon the brain is procured and delivered to a forensic neuropathologist. A complete detailed report takes about twelve weeks.
To me its interesting how even medical procedures are given different meanings for the same thing depending on whom you ask.

What a beautiful person.. heart, soul and physical appearance. To know that all of that was stripped away from him bothers me somewhat. When that one guy said he was holding El's voice box in his hands, I had to put the book down.

Has anyone else experienced a similar reaction to this book?
Yes, my friend Vissie, I very good understand you, but I think that Dinane have right

This is a very old thread. But, I've read this book. Talked to one of the men that was there. He still lives in Memphis and is a friend of Mr Cole. Much of what's in this book was told to them by Dan Warlick. In my opinion, it was a fairly good book. Better than most. {as far as "fact-checking"} I think the whole autopsy conversation could have been left out though. Not many people would enjoy reading that. According to the person I talked to that was there - there's nothing in the autopsy report nor did he see any "smashed teeth." The "cranial autopsy" {according to him} did happen. That's done to find and prove "cause of death" and is always done when a person is found dead with no witnesses or no other cause is known. Usually, the family can decide that though. It was not ruled a Coroners case so it didn't have to be done.

This is one of the better Elvis books and it carefully examines all the theories around Elvis' death

it's one of the first books I decided to review for my blog - and one of the top 5 books I recommend for non-faint of heart Elvis fans

the autopsy descriptions are upsetting, even without it being about Elvis.

What I found interesting was ; there's no interview from the dentist where he said he gave Elvis codeine. And there was no dilaudid found in Elvis' autopsy.
{the med. Ricky was said to have picked up from the pharmacy} I've just always wondered what happened to it. On that I've not found anyone that knows.Plus, I've ran down and talked to the Dr Davis that reviewed that case years later. According to him, it wasn't drugs that killed him . Who knows?

I just finished this book. It should have been titled, "Let us state the obvious". There wasnt much in there that I didnt already know.

Unfortunately, the authors of this book had their minds made up of what they "believed" happened. They needed to go a bit further and without their opinions, find out what really happened. There were several things left unanswered in my opinion. But, I'm not inclined to write another book on Elvis. I do question Mr Cole off and on though, through a mutual friend. Some things he answers, some he doesn't.

From what the book said, that sounds about right. Look, it was a good read and it got my attention. But the whole Elvis died from polypharmacy theory has been around forever.

I have posted this before, in 1994 the courts ordered the autopsy findings for Elvis Presley to be investigated and world reknowned Dade County Florida Medical Examiner Dr. Joseph Davis was given the task of reviewing all the findings of Elvis's death including toxicology reports, tissue samples etc......this is the only official statement that he has made on the his examination of the autopsy of Elvis Presley This review is mentioned in the books "Rev of the MM" and in "Elvis Up Close":

. Coroner Dr. Joseph Davis declared, "There is nothing in any of the data that supports a death from drugs. In fact, everything points to a sudden, violent heart attack."
He did say that years of drug usage and abuse likely hastened his early death.
