Zac Efron To Remake Elvis Presley Film Blue Hawaii?

Zac Efron To Remake Elvis Presley Film Blue Hawaii?

Zac Efron makes girls squeal and scream just as much as the king, Elvis Presley once did. But is the budding nineteen year old star really ready to take on an Elvis role? Mike Walker of the National Enquirer is reporting that for his first solo breakout movie, the teen idol is set to slip into Elvis Presley's flip-flops for a big-big-budget remake of the King's smash 1961 classic, Blue Hawaii!

The Enquirer's veteran gossip reports that the major studio deal's hush-hush until the ink's dried, but an insider told me: "It's a perfect vehicle for Zac! Not only can he sing and dance, but he's a truly great surfer and wants to perform his own surfing scenes."

Walker muses, "Brace yourselves for The Zac-Attack, ladies ? he's also slated for "High School Musical: The Movie," if Disney coughs up the right dough." Will he really make the Elvis film? It certainly seems like a decent fit.

But first he'll set his sights a little lower with a six degrees of separation. "We're working on developing a remake of Footloose, with me in the Kevin Bacon role, and an age-swap film like Big, Zac dished. "There?s other stuff but I don?t want to talk about it and then let people down."

Argh...I LOVE HIM !!! Zac Efron is soooo stunning and talented (obv. No as Good as Elvis). He doesn't look like Elvis but he has the talent to be him..

    I love him in Hairspray.

Sheesh doesn't anyone in "Hollywood" have any new ideals anymore? Seems like every time I hear of a new movie its a remake.

Can they really not come up with any new ideas? I don't like this idea at all

Elvis' movies are his. If this is another attempt to wake young peoples interests to Elvis, then it's the wrong way to do it. I'm 14, and I know that many of the young people out there will love the movie and love Zac. They won't care that Elvis starred in the original 40+ years ago.

So I don't see no reason to do this. Make a High School Musical 3 or something. Just do not remake any of Elvis' movies!

Can't they just leave Elvis movies alone. Let us just remember Elvis in these and not have to watch someone else try to step into his shoes because believe me that will never happen.

No-one will ever be able to step into his shoes.

ELVIS WILL ALWAYS BE "THE KING"

    aaaaargh! lol
I like this guy ! lol
But...remake of Blue Hawaii.....naaaaah....no way. I really hope it won't happen.
Because (don't kill me lol) he will be COMPARED to Elvis, which is so not possible...The young population will think that that guy made a better movie then Elvis, just because it looks newer and that the Original Blue Hawaii is old fashioned.

    .

I'm afraid young Zac is a pretty boy flash-in-the-pan whose career will end up the same way as Scott Baio, Christopher Atkins etc etc.

    i.e. nowhere!

And The National Enquirer as a source? Puh-lease!

Oh Yes, he is a great person, so down-to-earth. Once he was This Morning, a programme we have over here, and he is a lovely person, not a typical celeb.

    Marija...we have similar tastes..!!

    re

I think they shouldn't do this.
Maybe it's fun to see how this story will be in 2007,but I think you should leave this film just the way it was.

This is a great oppertunity to let young people meet Elvis. Because they want to see the original, simply as that
