Ohhh the divorce decree Elvis never picked up??!!
the thing here is MILLIONS of women do what she did and nobody gets it like she does. I remember an old Oprah show re-run was on the other day and Oprah was addressing rumors about herself and she said something very true she talked about how people expect something of her but when she exceeded their expectations they paniced and didnt know what to do but put her down same goes with Priscilla's advances with Gracland..its pretty sad really!!
So many people "Use" their last name like Cynthia Lennon..she got a talk show after John died because of theose last 6 letters and she didnt write one but TWO "tell-all" books that were really tellllll alllll!! although she married 3 times after John and John himself remarried and had a kid!! nobody drages her through the mud..u know why because shes nuthing...if she became something like Priscilla did I bet you the same that goes for Priscilla now would have gone for her!!

First of all, whether or not he picked up the decree, HE had it stipulated...and they WERE divorced, legally.

Secondly, if this were a forum about John Lennon, I would say the same thing about Miss Cynthia...no matter who it is, cashing in on someone like that is just plain wrong and shows very little taste.

And last but not least...IMO Pris is nuthing. She did a few movies...which were not all that IMO, and she starred in a TV series or two...short lived, by the way, and she waltzed in and opened up her EX-husband's home to make money. Where is the glory in that??? Should we commend her for capitalizing on the fact that she bore Lisa Marie...? But then again, Elvis contributed to that too, didn't he? Seems like everything she has "supposedly" accomplished has come about because of him... Perhaps that is why she gets drug thru the mud.....

However...I very seriously doubt that Pris was thinking solely of Lisa when she stepped in. Had that been the case, wouldn't she have continued to further her own career...? Just my opinion.

Some of you seemed to have missed my point. As I said before, if Priscilla had kept the Presley name upon her divorce I would not have thought anything of it. It was simply the fact that she took it back after Elvis died. Why not before if it wasn't for reasons he wouldn't have approved of, or because he didn't want her to have it, or because she wasn't getting anywhere without it?

As far as I know, Cynthia Lennon kept the Lennon name so it's not the same thing at all. She had no chance to use John's name anyway with Yoko still in the picture - that woman is pretty formidable! I wouldn't want to be on her bad side.

Congrats ReGina... And yes my dear, you are right...we are miles apart on this one... Elvis was wise in the ways that matter...he knew what it was to love people and tried to make them happy...most of the time at his own expense.

You and I have never agreed on Priscilla and we're still friends. You've never put me down for disliking her nor I you for taking up for her...just let the ones who can't handle disagreements go and try to recognize those who are just kidding. I know it's not always easy, but if you have doubts about someone's intentions, back away until you are sure.
