I will with-hold my true opinion of Sonny...because I get too mad to discuss it. I have never believed that EWH was written solely for the purpose of "waking" Elvis up so that he would change his lifestyle. Face it folks...the "bread and butter" was gone. For them, it was when they got fired. For the rest, it was when Elvis died. Either way, no matter what your opinion is, it seems apparent to me that they are still LIVING off of him. All of this generates a living for them...and puts them in the spotlight for a little while. IMO these men (the MM) for the most part, are sad little creatures who need to make a life for themselves and quit depending on a "legend" to pay their bills....

Sorry if this post is offensive to anyone...there are just some things that light me up...and this is one of them.

I kind of think that if they had not been fired, there would have been no "Elvis What Happened?". I also do not believe they wrote the book so Elvis would get cleaned up. Good excuse, though especially with the timing that Elvis died so closely when it was released. Unfortunately, that's what sold so many copies.

My feeling is that Sonny comes across straight and down to earth but may be a charmer and has a twisted version of what he wants to put out there making himself look much better than what he really was and is.

Somehow I have more respect for his cousin Red who pretty much stays out of the limelight.

Your post doesn't offend me, I totally respect your opinion. I don't know much about Sonny, other than what I've read - have never read the book EWH either....so....don't have much of an opinion either way....other than thanks for the link to the interview....it was interesting.

Kimmi...thank you. You're right my friend...there are lots of lovely people here. And the best thing we have in common, no matter how much we disagree on other things, is that we all love Elvis! Told ya...he's still TCB. (You know what I mean!!! LOL.)
