While importing the FTD's "New Year's Eve" I started wondering why they put the song "Hail Hail Rock 'n' Roll" as "School Days" on the back cover; do they have any kind of quality control? Or did Elvis ever record that song (which is a no, according to ElvisNews) or perform it live?
Or am I missing something...?
Thanks, now I'll guess I'm going to change the song title on my iPod - however, strange that ElvisNews lists the song as "Hail Hail Rock 'n' Roll"
Here are the lyrics fro Chuck's official site. You'd know the song as soon as you heard it, I'm sure ...
Up in the mornin' and out to school
The teacher is teachin' the Golden Rule
American history and practical math
You study' em hard and hopin' to pass
Workin' your fingers right down to the bone
And the guy behind you won't leave you alone
Ring ring goes the bell
The cook in the lunchroom's ready to sell
You're lucky if you can find a seat
You're fortunate if you have time to eat
Back in the classroom open you books
Gee but the teacher don't know
How mean she looks
Soon as three o'clock rolls around
You finally lay your burden down
Close up your books, get out of your seat
Down the halls and into the street
Up to the corner and 'round the bend
Right to the juke joint you go in
*Drop the coin right into the slot
You gotta hear something that's really hot
With the one you love you're makin' romance
All day long you been
Wantin' to dance
Feelin' the music from head to toe
'Round and 'round and 'round you go
(*Repeat)
Hail, hail rock'n'roll
Deliver me from the days of old
Long live rock'n'roll
The beat of the drum is loud and bold
Rock rock rock'n'roll
The feelin' is there body and soul
Getlo - cute'n'cuddly
School Days and Hail Hail Rock and Roll are the same songs. Hail Hail Rock and Roll is the last verse for School Days. They are the same. You will see Hail, Hail Rock and Roll listed because that is all Elvis sings of it. Most of the time and those times are correct is when it is listed as School Days. That is the correct song and not Hail Hail Rock and Roll.
Good thread
I always wondered why this song was called school days, but now I know why.
Thanks for the information
I'd like to go to Graceland
