I do not come here much but it seems from what I have read about you that if your got booted for a week there are some others that should of been booted also. They were very rude to you too.. this is sad and I really do not know what to think.. some of these girls are just plain nasty in their posts too. I don't know the particulars of this banning, But I do not think this site is trying to censor anyone. I think they have been very supportive of free exchange of opinions-and they have also been very insistent on members showing respect to each other. They have encouraged the idea of heated debate-but no personal attacks. IMO Sometimes the attacks seem to avoid name calling but (I have commented on this before) it is there in "Stealth Bomber form"- I think the MODs see this. I feel they are fair and work to make this a good place to discuss Elvis.
I belive the people behind this site a.k.a. as the moderators are up to free exchange of opinions and free debate, but they also have to play by the rules and have to cut down with no distintion anyone who broke them, its just they way it goes. From that point of view srj 1967 you blew it several times. You got banned, so what, don?t be such a Diva, don?t complain and keep buggin.
On the other hand, the rules are here to give us freedom of speech, and that freedom can also be severe shortened by people without breaking "the rules", and that?s what some members did to srj 1967 overreacting everytime this guy stated something that questioned their Elvis fundamentalism, I?m sure if those people haven?t taken srj 1967 comments that bad, the situation will have not got to this. Remember people dogmatism plays by the rules, and by the rules take us to the worst. To the moderators, you?re just doing your job and I do respect your decition, but hey, it takes two to tango, there is nothing wrong with heated up debate, some people doesn?t get that.
I been around here for a while and I believe srj 1967 intentions are always to contribute in making this a critical and so interesting forum and not just the typical lip and toungue service to Elvy like other weird forums. There are other users around here that they have totaly showed in their posts, although without breaking the rules, that they did post only to annoy certain users.

I agree, you totally summed up the situation.
I think people should know when to stop when a discussion is going nowhere and is getting too heated or ignore threads that you find offensive or too childish for your liking. There is a section here about different matters and you can take them or leave them according to your interests so there?s no need to hi-jack a thread every time you don?t like what it is about.
What I mean is here is a place for everybody and you always can learn from people even though they don?t agree with you (that goes both ways).
Anyway, if you are not grown up enough to stand to be corrected or to talk with people with different opinions, cultures or backgrounds, there?s no point to come here and try to change the rules of the forum, they were set already and people always have the option to go somewhere else where they think likewise without messing up with the fun of the others.
It?s a general observation and not directed to anyone in particular but I?d say to srj1967 reconsider it if you like this place because you are smarter than that and you know when you ignore square minded they eventually get tired and quit...

I totally agree with this post - there were others involved who were just as nasty back - and nothing happened to them. Also, yes, some of the girls do get very hateful when you don't agree with them...just check back on your posts and see how your response sounds - imagine how it sounds to those you responded to. That's how things turn nasty.....
As for "rose colored glasses" I certainly know Elvis was no saint - but I love him just the same......I can accept criticism towards him - it still doesn't change the wonderful entertainer he was (is).....
other members in this matter have been warned also and received infractionpoints for this. Given infractionpoints will decrease by time (some after a day, others after a few days). A particular amount of (active!) infractionpoints will cause a temporary ban. The fact that sjr1967 hasn't been given an explaination of his banning, is a mistake and shouldn't have happened. That's the problem with automatic scripts like the infractionsystem. If works, but not without flaws.
It won't do justice to this case pretending srj1967 is the one getting the ban and that others haven't been warned.
THis warning/infractionsystem can only be seen be the people who are getting warned. So you can't see (from the outside) if someone has been warned or has received infractionpoints.

Thank you Albert for explaining all of this to me. I now understand and yes it is fair. I thought that only the srj person got in trouble and did not think it was fair. But now I think it is fair and understand that if others continue going after people it could happen to them too. Thanks so much for taking the time to explain it to us. I am not an angry person, I am just a Elvis Fan and love to learn all I can about him.
