It's 30 years since that bleakest of August days; the tragic day of the death of The King. And it was tragic, for Elvis was beyond peer as a singer and the idol of a generation. But the stark fact is, his premature death was neither romantic nor heroic. Elvis' premature death was the direct result of an excessive and dangerous lifestyle. Live fast, die young - that's tragic as well.
