    Sideburns

I was just wondering, Elvis's sideburns were a lot thicker and longer during the 70's -- are they real? 50's and 60's sideburns looked natural, but the 70's?? I read somewhere that Elvis had some hair implants on his chest during the 70's is that true as well?

I can imagine that Larry Geller 'puffed up' Elvis' late 70s sideburns. But hair-implants on the chest? I've never, ever heard or read that rumour. This is the first time

Elvis started growing his sideburns when he was 16. me & my brother were born the same way. He has what people call high testosterone. Think about it, when a man grows a full beard it could get bushy and long, like, Santa Claus lol, so in saying that, think of a beard and shave off around the neck, mouth and under the nose and you have full sideburns but a lot people don't have the ablity to grow bushy full beards like he did. High testosterone also means you grow body hair as well. People don't realize at times that when you get older you tend add more body hair.
By your mid 30s it's growing out of control..lol

well that one is pretty way out there. nope they were real.
I never looked for trouble but I never ran.

"He has what people call high testosterone" I would have assoicated high testosterone with hairy men. Like hairy arms and legs and Elvis doesn't fall into that catorgery.

You never know. Why is it,that Elvis in the 50's has no chest hair.Yet in the 60's and 70's Elvis has a very hairy chest, huh? Did he shave his chest or not? I've always ponder that one.Yes! Elvis' sideburns were real.

Hi Shelley. I've wondered about that too that's why I thought the implant thing might be true. Elvis had pictures in the 50's and some in the 60's showing his chest and it seem smooth, but came late 60's and most especially in the 70's he has so much hair chest.

I think his chest was shaved sometimes, that is the reason why it can't be seen in his early pics. And it is true that men change with time (like anybody), a man in his 20s looks different than later, in his 30s or 40s. My favourite year is 1970 anyways, so when he was 35. And I'm sure his chest-hair, his sideburns and his hair were real. Only his hair color was not real, but it emphasized his eyes and his beautiful face. And with or without chest-hair, he looked great!!

    Chest hair implants?.... lol
    No they were real!
By the way they have to be permanent right? Have you ever seen how it's been done? And not to mention about the fact that it was back in the seventies.

Being a dude and all I never wanted to go out of my way to bring this up but I have always thought his chest was most likely shaved during TTWII. I have never heard any of the MMMs or anyone mention that he did that but looking at him there and then in some closeups from the November tour, that would appear to be the case.
...you won't forget me when I go.

I have heard Priscilla say he was thinking of dyeing black his chest hair at the beginning of the 70's. Maybe he did
