I'm in the process of downloading this right now, but I want to go ahead and thank you for it, as I know how good it is. I haven't watched it in a while though.
I love to see reactions like Patrick's because it affirms my belief that Elvis really went out with a bang. I love this show from beginning to end. It's a shame CBS and RCA didn't record it.
I hope everyone else enjoys it just as much.

One thing that really struck me when I first saw it, was how wild the crowd was. Right after Also Sprach Zarathustra goes into the drumruffle from Ronnie Tutt, the crowd goes nuts..... And then, after quite some time, out of nowhere comes Elvis..... the crowd explodes! Elvis walks a bit over stage, takes notice of the crowd, walks some more... and then starts "I say SEE...See See Rider.." and again the crowd goes bzurk....
It's wonderfull to see that our man really showed who's the King on his very last concert. It would have been such a shame when we -the fans- would have known that his last concert would be one of his worse. Fortunately this wasn't the case.
I can't help but wondering how much better his image might have been if Cincinnatti/Indianapolis would have been recorded by CBS instead of Omaha/Rapid City.....

One way i love to look at his last concert like this:
Elvis knew he was in a bad shape,he wasnt stupid.It must have really hurt elvis that being once the sex symbol was not looking very healthy.Yet he had the love for every single fan to not disapoint them,he plucked up enough courage to carry on to the end.
I sure respect elvis for doing that as it must of been hard on him
Next time you play the '77 cd or watch the '77 footage,think how much courage it took for elvis to not let down his fans and im sure it will give some a new out look on the whole '77 era :worthy: .
BTW albert thanks for the footage,this goes to prove what a powerful voice he had in the later days
Great video Albert, thanks for the pictures Kenny. I've read a lot of positive reviews of his last concert, one review where they said that at the end of the concert "he didn't want to leave the stage, shaking hands with everybody for a long time". Nobody should ever question the heart and courage of EP nor his love for us fans.

The source is VCD. I don't know what the audio source is used for the overdubbing. It's so much better than the (already great) 'Adios, The Final Performance' CD.
I wouldn't mind if FTD released the CD in this quality. In fact, it would be one of my favourite CD's

Yes you are right.
FTD must release this cd in the audio quality of the VCD.
Same goes for the concert a few days earlier in Cincinatti. That one has also amazing soundquality. The sound really match the sound of a real live concert: full, dynamic, boosted and lots of audience

I can't answer your question, Steve, but to add to it: how does The Last Show (I have a cassette recording of this one, and I think it's really good) compare to Adios? I am pretty sure that The Last Farewell is an inferior recording, but I'm not certain of that.
Also, as has been said, the sound on the VCD is awesome, but it is not complete.

The last farewell was the first release of the 2 lp set ,later was transferred on to cd in poor quality with schratches and all, Adios the final performance was taken from the source tape used for the LP set..So this is the one to pick...as I said Adios,my friend
