hey sounds like a good idea to recreate scenes that we were not all there for but could see what it must have been like
I was thinking of some new attractions that would help bring in newer fans and bring back others who have been there to Graceland in the past like myself. I came up with the idea of an EP was museum of recreated moments in EP's career. For instance-they could do a model of Sun Studio and wax figures of EP in 1954 with Scotty Moore, Bill Black, DJ Fontana and Sam Phillips. The moments highlighted would be:
Sun Elvis
Ed Sullivan appearance
Jailhouse Rock sequence
1957 Gold suit
Army Elvis
Frank Sinatra Timex Special
Blue Hawaii sequence
Kid Galahad sequence
Viva Las Vegas sequence
Elvis and car in front of Graceland (famous pose in 1965)
Elvis & Priscilla's wedding
Guitar Man sequence from 68 Comeback (with dancing background images)
Black Leather suit sequence
Charro sequence
That's The Way It Is sequence
Madison Square Garden press conference (blue suit)
Madison Square Garden concert (white and gold suit)
Aloha sequence
Each set would have uniquely recreated background settings as they appeared in EP's actual career to bring the past back to life. I think this would be an amazing attraction for the new plans!![]()

cool but very expensive too
Money won't be any issue in the expansion plans. FXS has already told EPE this and publicly stated it himself. If there is another hotel to be built as in two major as is now being rumored by the media, then the cost will go even higher than the reported estimate of $250 million. I think they are just throwing an estimation out there right now of the finances to get some type of picture of what it will cost to make the changes in that area. I read that the state would not support the move unless it called for at least a $200 million or more for a redevelopment plan. Lakeisha had told me that she had heard it could cost up to $300 million before the final plan is completed. But as for the wax idea, I think it fits perfectly with introducing the ultimate EP experience as is their master plan for the future. It would be almost like reliving the past.![]()
Man, you've read my mind. I am suggesting this for years: instead of using the stupid-shop-dummies to showcase the jumpsuits, they should be using wax versions of ELvis. It would make it so much more vivid.
I can understand this would be too costly to be used with all suits, so using the wax-Elvis's for the above mentioned milestones of Elvis' life and career would be a real valuable addition to the collection.

Let's linkt this idea around in the Elvis world. And let people sign a online petition and send it to EPE. Let's make work of it
You know, I never really liked waxed figures, always were kind of creepy to me like clowns and ventriloquist dummies but I have to admit that dressing up wax figures of Elvis in his costumes would look much better than having empty ones as long as the clothes hang right on the figures and don't have floppy legs etc.

WAX ELVIS FIGURES AT GRACELAND:
WHO AGREES?
I will be the first one, hope many, many, many fans follow! (and maybe in the future we can see this figures with our own eyes)

That?s really weird: I dreamed about that a few days ago!!! I dreamed I would see a building where "Sun Studios" stands on it. Then I went inside and saw a figure of Elvis inside!!!
Why do I often dream things that come true?
That?s really like a wonder. I often dream things that happen the next day, or a few days later.
Technically, D.J. Fontana was never part of the "Blue Moon Boys".
The "Blue Moon Boys" were Scotty and Bill.
Of note, D.J joined up with Elvis in the latter part of 1955 !!!![]()
Just compare these two ways of showing the jumpsuits. Imagine having wax ELvis' from different stages of his life: different expressions, different weight, etc.
(thanks srj1967 for the great pictures)

It is a great idea, my only problem with it is no matter how much is spent on sculptures etc it seems impossible to make a 3-D character of Elvis that actually looks like him. Even the Madame Tussauds, and they are suppossed to be the best in the world, just miss something.
I personally think with the jumpsuits it would be a shame to showcase them in something that misses that x-factor Elvis had which I think can be better perceived when the suits are empty or on a non-personified mannequin.
I would love it if it was done properly but as I say I dont think anyone has achieved that yet - which I also thin is weird.
