My favorate version of Just Pretend is the one from Live in Las Vegas CD 4. Just sings it beautifully.
    I did it my way.

The live version from August 12, 1970 does it for me...but I also like the studio version, as well.

Girl needs a cold shower after watching that.

I saw Elvis perform this in Vegas in the early 70's
    WHEW! what sweet memories.

Live version does it for me....and really LIVE....was hot hot hot!!!!

I love the nuances ELVIS can do with his voice. He was always amazing that way. The man's personality SHINED through it all.

I will never forget you Rosanne.

That is my all time favorite song in the world- and I adore all of them- but the live one from TTWIW is my favorite- he plays around with the low notes and just sounds so sexy. you all know he is singing that song just to me, dont you? I am sure it is so! suzanne

I like the live verison better because i think when he does that song live he really makes the effort to make sure its the best preformance of that song. When it is recored it doesnt have that same kind of power they way it does when its live.

I prefer the studio version on the original TTWII album.

Ummmmm...got to be the live version...I'm thinking it was 1972...

Daddy, I miss you more every day. You will always be my hero..

both versions are great. it's hard to beat Elvis live, but in this case i like the studio version better. mainly because Elvis always had difficulty with the timing on coming back into the final chorus. (the extended "whoah-oh" part) in TTWII he kinda cracked himself up over it.
