Don't know it that was the reason Lakeisha, but it sure can't hurt Elvis. Hopefully this will help bridge the gap. Elvis always thought well of black people so it would be nice if it was reciprocated.

I just heard Kia Shine say that Elvis was an influence on him. He was on the radio here talkin about his debut album.
He was sayin how him comin up poor and growin up in the ghetto was his motivation to get out and not be another statistic. And seein Elvis comin from the hood and makin it big was his inspiration to make it out and do somethin positive with his life.
That's why he became a rapper.
For those that don't know, Kia is a very popular local rapper from Memphis who is about to blow up internationally.
I was shocked hearin him say this about Elvis because he's hardcore and keeps it real. This can only do good for Elvis among the younger black folks around here.
Maybe he saw Viva Las Vegas and saw Bey and 50 on there praising Elvis and felt it was safe to do the same, lol.
Don't know it that was the reason Lakeisha, but it sure can't hurt Elvis. Hopefully this will help bridge the gap. Elvis always thought well of black people so it would be nice if it was reciprocated.
