This song was in mono for a very long time on a 45 single,
tell i got elvis greatest hits vol 1 and in that album a stereo version,
if this song, so was this frist time we have this song in stereo.

this album came out in 1981.

I don't know, but it sure would surprise me if that was the first time that song was made available in stereo. In fact, it's baffling to me that in 1969, a song like that--any song, really--would just be released in mono. Is that definitely the case?
