Thread: Miss USA as Elvis

    Miss USA as Elvis

This is Rachael Smith, the USA's contestant in this week's Miss Universe contest, showing her nation's "national costume".

She fell on her *** in the final parade ... hilarious.

I hate impersonators of course ... but I'd pay to see this chick!

She was at the Indenpendence Monument. That suit was looking great. That's the reason of my support to Miss USA: Elvis.
Let the stars fade and fall, and I won't care at all, as long as I have you.

Now she can wear Elvis' hair with style! Her falling reminded me of Sandra Bullock's character in Miss Congenialty - where she states that "we're all just hoping that one of them will fall on stage - oh wait a minute, I've already done that!" Too bad she didn't win, she showed true grace in her ability to move on!

LOL Lisarose, wonderful mental picture! (I really loved that scene from Miss Congenialty, lol).

Yep, I'm afraid mine was much plainer than any of these.....
I bow to Elvis on the fashion know-how.
But, it's fun to look back at the strange things we wore,

Yes it is ajr, it was fun looking at those atrocious jumpsuits. Forgot to thank you for posting them.

I can't imagine you having that bad of a taste either, I'm sure your's was plainer. I do remember some that were cute, just wasn't into them - shorts, jeans and midi length skirts and dresses with boots is what I was into at that time. I still love the midis lol and still wear them from time to time. I loved the tall funky wedgies at that time too - great as I needed the height.

It just shows you how great Elvis is. Even today after he has been dead 30 years he is still influencing the world. He was an innovator. He started it all. They will be talking about Elvis for many many years. There's Elvis then there's everybody else.
"When I was a child, ladies and gentlemen, I was a dreamer. I read comic books, and I was a hero in the movie. So every dream that I ever dreamed has come true a hundred times. I learned very early in life that without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend; without a song. So I keep singing a song." - Elvis Presley

A little sideways with this topic, but a bit of fun. I was talking to someone about songs from years ago. I then noticed this thread was brought up again (re jumpsuits). Elvis was ALWAYS cool and dignified. There was a favourite song of mine, from when I was little, (o.k. any song that mentions/ed horses I loved, lol) so I looked it up on Youtube. I still love it, but look at the dancing and obviously copying Elvis' jumpsuits. Remember the Osmonds?

I think this is fun, I'm going to ask the band who plays down the road, to play this for me, lol, wonder if they will/can? lol
