This is a book that I look really forward to
Reading notes about a concert and having pictures of it really makes listening to the show more vivid.
Also curious about the pricetag though![]()
Just found this information on EPE's website about the upcoming book/CD combo ROCKING ACROSS TEXAS:
Expected to be released March 1, 2005, is FTD’s next special book/CD combination entitled Rocking Across Texas. (Delayed from its originally announced release date of January 1.) The book is by Stanley Oberst. New stories, updated old stories and some especially rare photographs are featured. Accompanying the book will be two Elvis concert “soundboard” recordings (informally recorded from the concert sound system): the June 19, 1974 show in Amarillo, Texas and the July 3, 1976 show in Fort Worth, Texas. There’s also a short, previously unreleased 1960 interview recording with Elvis and his manager Colonel Tom Parker.

As interesting as this project sounds, I am quite curious to see what the cost will be for this one!! Considering the previous 2 book/CD combo releases from the FTD label (FLASHBACK and THE WAY IT WAS) were well over $60 each, I am guessing this one will probably cost even more considering there are 2 CD's with this book!!![]()
Oh well....guess we'll have to wait and see what happens!!![]()

I hope you are right too Unchained....that artwork is not very impressive, to say the least!!!![]()
I don't know what happened to SHAKE A HAND....that is strange! There was supposedly a live version of YOUNG AND BEAUTIFUL which was also supposed to be included in the '76 show, and I don't see that one listed either. Very strange indeed...![]()

What a glorious time to be a hardcore Elvis Fan ................
Things have never been this good, since post 1977.
Those who cannot see it, .................. will, also, never get it.

We've come a long way since 1977, when we were told that RCA didn't have much unreleased material in their vaults!!! And THAT was almost 28 years ago!!!!![]()

By the way, that Polk Salad Annie on Disc 2 has an F-bomb in it...as some of you will recall from Cajun Tornado.
