Since I live not far from Memphis ....our weather is usually the same ..HOT !! and HUMID !! Take precautions & drink lots of fluids .
I was in Tupelo and Memphis for the first time last August and it was very very hot. I think it was 40 degrees. I would advise a very high factor. Drink water at regular intervals, but the most important thing I found was to wear a large sun hat. This is essential when you aren't used to the weather. I didn't wear one the first day in Tupelo and I got a bit of sunstoke, but when I wore it the rest of the time, I was alright. Hope this helps.

Be careful of the August heat in Memphis. Temperatures are usually anywhere from 85 to close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit, factor in the usually high southern humidity and that feels more like 110 or even 120. Very muggy and hot. You will sweat a lot. Drink lots of water and loose light colored clothing and you should be all right, just don't overexert yourself.
