1970 is my fav year for sure!!! But I'd like to see him at his very first show at the Intarnational Hotel in 1969. I'm sure he was electrifying!!!!!!
I WOULD BE HAPPY TO HAVE JUST SEEN ELVIS!! IT DOESN'T MATTER TO ME WHAT YEAR, JUST TO BE ABLE TO SAY THAT I WAS IN THE PRESENCE OF THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER AND MOST BEAUTIFUL MAN WHO EVER LIVED. THAT WOULD REALLY TOUCH MY HEART!!!!!!
"You can knock me down, step in my face,
slander my name all over the place"
- But don't YOU step on my blue suede shoes -
*You walk past me- I can feel your pain-Time changes everything -One truth always stays the same - You're still you - After all - You're still you *
if i could go back in time, i'd choose 56 or 57 when he performed in lubbock. i'd hang around after the show and follow him to whatever diner he'd go to and try to sit at the same table as him or somewhere close by. i'd definetly become an El-fan - gotten in my car with my girlfriends and followed him all over Texas! i know i would've joined the Elvis fan club and gotten the card that he actually signed! i understand gas was pretty cheap in those days
[as you can guess, i got the book Rocking Across Texas for Christmas, thank you Uncle John!]
All I wanted was a white knight with a good heart, soft touch, fast horse
Ride me off into the sunset Baby, I'm forever yours
"More people today should see him not simply as a performer, but as an artist with a great soul."
John Bakke, professor emeritus
University of Memphis
It is not important for me in the year, all are wonderful, but if i have to say that i like to haven been in concert of ALOHA FROM HAWAII,when he sings AMERICAN TRILOGY with this voice,to be very electrizante.
I'm the King of the Jungle, They call me Tigerman
To come back after 9 years of no live performing, and blow the crowd away like that proves just what a natrually gifted entertainer he was. He totally electrified the crowd!! The greatest comeback in entertainment history!!
I'd like to have seen him on Milton Berle or Ed Sullivan - the final performance when he sang Peace in the Valley at the end of the evening. And [like Sara] hang around the stage door - I'd have my good camera and take lots of photos
Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go
I would go back to 1957 and warn Elvis what is about to come in his life, showing pictures, documents, etc. so maybe he could still be alive today!
For me,it would be at the start of it all.The fabulous 50's.When Rock'n'Roll was fresh and exciting.
The One and Only King of Rock'n'Roll.
