I agree, Tony!I almost regret starting threads, when all this bickering and hostility starts up...
I enjoy reading all view points, but please stop all this arguing!

Ok..look...calm down....it looks like I opened another can of worms so....I will not post anymore in this thread because it just causes another argument....
It's these silly freakin' arguments that make me ashamed sometimes to be a fan of Elvis.....

I agree with both Tony and Franny. There are those here that just can't seem to hold a conversation about anything without an argument.
I enjoy both your posts and hope you will continue to give us the interesting information you both supply to this forum.

Regarding Dave Hebler, like some of you i`ve never liked this chap myself..........but quite why i`m not sure, or have plain forgotten!
It was a bit of a shock when he turned up in the Frank Skinner docu in the late 90`s, as he did`nt look anything like the Mr badass he has been portrayed as, even taking into account it was 20 years on since he worked for E. Sonny West often says Hebler gets a rough ride he does`nt deserve, and still keeps in touch with him.
Was it because of Hebler`s part in "What Happened" after only working for E a few short years?
He liked him enough to employ him and give him a car, then again he had the Stanley`s around too.
Sometimes these guys with more than one ID use it to able to agree with themselves. I caught my nephew doing just that when he was visiting my house -I noticed he was posting at a Led Zepplin site as 2 people-and he was backing himself up with the alter ego. I told him that was wrong and silly. He told me "other guys on here are doing it." Debate in school was much harder than on the internet![]()
Well, I have to disagree with you.
"If they were only after money, why didn't they accept Elvis' offer (that's right, a BRIBE not to publish it"
It's called a signed Contract!
They (MM) of course, wouldn't have known how much the book would make (or not) but would have presumed it would be, and I heard, that it was a hit! Who knows what the Publishers thought/promised to those other breed! In those circumstances, I wouldn't have thought they would let them out of the Contract, do you?
Since the Publishers hired a writer who sensationalised (so they said), well why didn't they do any research about hin, or know about him, from his previous work? Were they on "Easy Street" again, along for the ride?
I'm glad those other breed made little money out of it,KARMA!
In my world, friends don't betray friends. Simple. If they were what they now make excuses for, they would have given the money to charity, which they didn't! In my opinion, they continue to justify themselves, because of having a guilty conscience and again, wanting money on "Easy Street", without working for it, like we all do!
I know the largest ever order for one chain at the time for a paperback was by K-Mart which ordered 2 million copies after Elvis died. Dunleavy and the publisher made money.
Thank you for this Tony my feelings exactly and there also seems to be a double standard, some can get away w/a lot of things...and some can voice their opinion but get all bent when someone else's differs. I'm ashamed not to be a fan of Elvis but to be lumped w/some fans.
I think this forum deserves better than the acts of some .
I certainly know Elvis deserved better.
