It was a most beautiful suit, but as I remember seeing it in person... it did not appear that "red" in color. Perhaps it was the venue lighting in LR that made the difference.
I remember my Mom being really upset because we had to attend our third concert before we saw Elvis actually wear a "trademark" white jumpsuit.
lol......must've been a terrible disappointment!!!!Originally Posted by FrankieRider2

This is a great jumpsuit! It's too bad Elvis didn't wear it more often. Thanks for the pictures posted!

I love this jumpsuit and hope they release more Elvis On Tour footage featuring it, but I have a question: Did Elvis actually ever sing "Burning Love" while wearing it? In the song listings I've seen for the three April shows, "Burning Love" is not present. I've not seen a song list for the Texas show but it does seems likely he would've sang it since by that time it was a hit.Originally Posted by Jumpsuit Junkie

I believe it was more crimson than scarlet...or maybe the other way around, in that it was not the bright red but a darker form (more blue in the color, so not as warm a color temperature). It could look brighter red under warm-color stage lights but was not that shade. Most replicas of the suit just use bright red gabardine, which is a minor booboo.Originally Posted by FrankieRider2

I'm a roving roustabout...
I'd guess in El Paso (November 10, 972) he finally got around to doing that...don't know for sure whether he sang the song that night, though.Originally Posted by PaleRider

This suit, originally called the "Red Matador" is not bright red but maroon. It's a brown/reddish colour. The nickname "Burning Love Suit" is because of the fact the suit appears on the sleeve of the "Burning Love" single and has nothing to do with Elvis singing "Burning Love" while wearing this suit.
Thank you Leroy for your interesting observations.

Man,I just work here!(Elvis 68')
this jumpsuit was part of my friend Paul Lichter` collection for many years. In 1985, he came in Montreal (quebec) for our big convention and the jumpsuit was with him in a special case and also he had a tv show to promote the convention and show the audience for the first time outside the usa the red burning love jumpsuit. The cape was and still in the museum at Graceland. have a nice day, bogarcon

pity he only wore it a few times.
Elvis did wear it only a few times because he downright hated it. He didn't like red.
This suit is so unique because its (I believe) the only all red jumpsuit he ever wore
it was such a change from the whites and blues he seemed to favor in his outfits.
