So who's your favourite female singer?

Okay, so it's pretty obvious that Elvis is everyone's favourite male singer on here.

But what of the girls? Who is your favourite?

Mine is Janis Joplin. If I could go back in time to see any one artist on stage (aside from Elvis) it'd be her.

Not the world's most attractive woman, but when she was in full flight belting out the blues on stage, there was nothing sexier!

And she was a big fan of Elvis, and always spoke highly of him.

My two favourite female singers have to be Karen Carpenter and Eva Cassidy.

Both beautiful singers who died tragically before their times. I simply get shivers hearing Karen Carpenter sing, just amazing in every way, and Eva Cassidy had a truly stunning voice and unique style. I love lots of other female singers, but those two are my favourites.

Yeah, Eva was incredible. Songbird is one of my all-time Top 10 albums. Love it ...

Sad that she died so young.

Either Tina Turner or Reba...I saw her in concert few times and met her when I was really little and she really truely love her fans. Like Elvis did...Reba would always take the time out to talk to everyone of them that where backstage.

Here's my list of favorite female singers:

    Reba McEntire

    Faith Hill

    Sheryl Crow

    Martina McBride

    Trisha Yearwood

    Lisa Marie Presley

    Terri Clark

    Sara Evans

Karen Carpenter (her voice was truly magical and her loss was incalculable)

    Lee Ann Womack

Patsy Cline (Patsy was truly ahead of her time and, as with Karen Carpenter, her tragic death on March 5, 1963 was a huge loss to the country music world)

Mahalia Jackson (after viewing a Bill Gaither program about Mahalia I can see why Elvis loved her singing...she truly was awesome!)

That's all I can think of for now....
