*goes lookin' for Leroy*
Oh, Leroy....where art thou, oh kind sir??
I do know that from 1968-1971 (I believe that is the correct timeframe) that Bill Belew did the design work on Elvis's jumpsuits....Gene Doucette took over after that if I'm not mistaken...both men were employed by I.C. Costume Company at one point (I.C. Costumes are no longer in business).....Leroy can shed more light on this I'm sure...
I'd like to know the answer to this one myself...although I'm sure that the suits with rhinestones and studs on them weighed much more than the embroidered suits and the "karate-gi" style suits from 1969....but I'm not sure how much each suit weighed....I have heard that the suit he wore for his 1974 Memphis shows ("1974 Arabian"/"Multi-Sequinned Jumpsuit"/"Memphis Suit" is the names that I have seen for the suit) was one of the heaviest if I'm not mistaken.....![]()
I'm positive that (although they look like they may have weighed a ton and a half) that the embroidered jumpsuits weighed much less than the rhinestone-studded suits....
