I don't know how long this will last there, maybe all year or maybe just a couple days but if you go here on Elvis.com

    http://www.elvis.com/news/full_story.asp?id=1200

It has about a two minute video of the whats in the exhibit. Looks like its well displayed. I can't wait to see it in June.

I don't see a video link on that page. They mention that the video link isn't up and active yet.

I just went to Graceland this past Tuesday, 3-6-07, to see this exhibit. It is amazing. It is hard to believe that he actually wore and performed in these suits. The belts on some were so large and heavy-looking. When you see him performing and sweat pouring off, you know why. I will post some pictures when I have time.

    All Access Jumpsuits

A few more photos. Also, another "Do You Know". The Gypsy jumpsuit is the suit he was wearing when "Babs" came to see him in Vegas.

They are the real thing. EPE wouldn't be stupid enough to post replicas.

I have seen many of the replicas that the IC Costume company (or whatever it's called these days) makes. Sonny West had a few with him when I met him in Australia.

And they are not very good at all; it is obvious that the materials etc aren't quite right. I know some impersonators (Ugh!) use this company's suits, but they don't look good at all.

But the ones at Graceland are the originals ...

I have to respectfully disagree with this latter statement. There is a good reasoning behind why the suits aren't made in the original fabric...and (taken from B&K's website) here is the reason why:

Q: What type of fabric do you make your costumes out of?

A: We use a top quality polyester suraline gabardine. It breathes well, and stretches well. If you order an embroidered costume from us, it is made from poly/lycra blend.

Q: Was this the type of fabric Elvis' costumes were made from?
A: No, Elvis costumes were made from wool/lycra blend that was specially formulated for him. The thickness of the fabric changed over the years. When the jumpsuits were first created they were made from a heavier blend with more stretch to allow for the extreme movements Elvis made in performing. As Elvis got older and heavier, he wanted a lighter weight blend so that it would breathe more and not be quite as hot on him. He did not require a great deal of stretch in later years, as his movement on stage was more subdued.
