I have heard that his favorite NFL team was the Cleveland Browns, because of his admiration for running back Jim Brown. Other than that, he loved karate. I don't think he followed basketball or hockey at all.
All i know is that he loved football
I also have seen pictures of him with Honkball in the 50's....
I'd like to go to Graceland
Memphis,Tennessee
I seem to remember that in the 70s, Memphis fielded an NFL team. I think they were called the Memphis Sidemen? Something like that, anyway. They only lasted a year, and I remember reading somewhere Elvis supported them.
It may not have been the NFL either ...
As for basketball, I don't think he was ever into it.
THe Team You saying from old WFL, Memphis Shipmens

Actaully, it was the Memphis Southmen of the now defunct World Football League (WFL).
I didn't see it, however my older brother has told me that during one of the national broadcasts of a game, they showed a shot of Elvis watching the game from his box at the stadium. I wonder if this clip exist on any tapes of the games?
Greybeard
Elvis attended games of the Memphis Southmen as a guest of owner John Bassett, in his box. Unfortunately, the Southmen were only around for two seasons (74-75). The league folded and despite deposits for over 40,000 season tickets, the NFL refused to accept them following the 1975 season.
Interesting question! Did Elvis sponsor the Memphis team in any way?
Don't think Elvis ever sponsored the football team in Memphis.
I remember on my first Graceland tour that the tour guide (when they had tour guides) said he liked the Pittsburgh Steelers. If that's true, that was probably in the '70s when they were dominant, and that means he was a bandwagon jumper.....![]()
But yeah, most accounts I've heard and read say he liked the Cleveland Browns the most.
