    If I Can Dream Suit

Does anyone know what the dimensions of the burgandy apache tie that Elvis wears in the 68' Comeback Special, At the end when he's wearing the white double-breasted suit and sings the song "If I can dream"? I plan to get married in May and need to know so that the tie can be made, I already have the fabric that is perfect. Any ino. would be appreciated.

    Hi,

I'm sure that any good dressmaker could make your tie for you, just by looking at the photo.

That suit looks great. I too am going to get married in the same suit. That's what my girlfriend wants. So I was going to get a double breasted suit on ebay and just make the top button actually fuction and it would look pretty close for like $68.oo plus shipping. That's total suit (pants and jacket). Just curious what your's is made of and what the material is? Where did you get your scarf slide?Any pictures of you in the suit?Sorry so many questions, but you're the only person I've seen other than Bill Belew that had this suit.Where'd you obtain the pattern...something you came up with?

im lucky as my wife is a costume maker for a t.v station in the u.k,
She got lots and lots and lost of pictures of elvis in his suit and went from there. i beleive it is made from a wool based gaberdine and lined with satin.
my wife also made the scarf. I will ask my wife to draw up a scarf pattern, i tried it myself but it turned out wrong.

    hope that helps.

Thank you sir, that would be VERY helpful. You should have her make you the "Superfly" outfit, the one he wore when he visited Nixon.I swear I actually love that thing. The gold international belt just sets it off. I was born in the wrong time.I'd so be styling in the 70's.

it was a bandana! That's all it was a plain bergundy bandana. Fold it and roll it until it looks the same and good luck to the happy couple!

On his old talk show Geraldo Rivera wore the white, "If I Can Dream" ,suit in an hour devoted to Elvis, his personal opinion was it was an ugly white suit, but looked good on Elvis.

Man would love to see some photos of that !!! I bet that would be funny to see Geraldo wearing that suit.

Mexico is pretty far... So I can't help you this time. But I do send my best wishes and congratulations too for your wedding.
Let the stars fade and fall, and I won't care at all, as long as I have you.

    If I can dream suit

Do what I did. Buy the nylon elvis boots, will last several times. Buy a white double breasted suit on ebay. Than buy a burgandy/red silk material and a gold apache tie slip band and you're set.
