hiya -please it would be nice if you would stop closing down topics about lisa marie or priscilla -thats not right-so people express themselves in certain ways -nothing wrong with that-lisa and priscilla must always be talked about-because there a big piece of elvis life -sometimes it can get pretty slow in here so topics about them spice things up-so sometimes things get heated up thats normal -were just expressing what we feel about them-we may not agree -but thats no reason to shut down topics about them--it makes things alot more interesting when we speak about these two controversial people
ur a moderator thats cool but if things get outta hand then be the moderator simply delete the certain members post that u think is going too far-wouldint that be better?

You are absolutely right, let's hear ppls views about things. I don't know what your views are on these people, but personally, i don't blame them for anything, Elvis, and i love him, was a big boy, he was a grown man, priscilla didn't make him the way he was , he managed that by himself.

Agreed. It is all about tone, being inclusive, not projecting one's own life onto the Presley's in any negative shape or form, perhaps those negative feelings should be shared privately? The old addage: "if people aren't here to defend themselves, we shouldn't talk about them."
These places are to have fun, nothing else, and it would be lovely if people were nice to each other. Please look at the Mr. Bean thread, lol, that's what life is about.....love and laughter, it makes you feel good. I know what I'd prefer, wouldn't everyone else? Feeling good?

The moderator's have every right to run the board any way they see fit.I would however caution against sanitizing it too much.Nothing wrong with a heated debate every now and then.Just dont get personal.Any message board can use a spark sometimes to liven things up to generate interest.

I was going to start a thread about this subject but i just found it here...
I can?t see why we can?t discuss Priscilla and Lisa Marie without a thread being closed or people jumping because they feel it?s disrespectful when no one was insulting the other or getting personal. We discuss their actions concerning Elvis and the private stories they have told themselves and that?s what a forum is for. If some people don?t want to speak about his private life, why don?t you go and post somewhere else like the jumpsuites section or the covert art section ???? I don?t post there because I?m not interested on those subjects but I don?t go there and f... other interests.
I don?t want to start a new fight but I?m getting very bored of not being able to discuss things just because 2 or 3 don?t like a subject or are over sensitive. I can?t tell anyone how to rule a forum but this is completely unfair. This forum has a lot of different sections and you just have to post wherever suits you best.

However, since we are all here, (sorry, I'm really not trying to show sarcasm here, I'm sharing my opinion). Wouldn't it be more appropriate for others here to share their own personal information, to "add sparks", for us all to analyse? After all, they are able to defend themselves, whereas the Presley's aren't (as they aren't here). Isn't the board about fun? Not running down others? Surely that doesn't feel good?

I guess everyone understands that we also like a heated discussion. What we do NOT like is people calling each other names or worse, simply because somebody has a different meaning.
That rudeness is the only reason sometimes we need to delete posts or yes, close a thread when things are not on topic anymore but got personal!
We can only hope everybody understands, we try to keep this a place for all fans to visit, young and old.

I understand your point of view and respect it.I just think it's understandable when people express their personal opinions about Elvis' life and it sometimes leads to a heated discussion.Obviously the Presley's are not here to defend themselves but it's only natural to discuss them periodically.This shouldnt lead to any personal attacks though.I've never understood the mentallity of someone who gets incredibly upset about a post on a MB.It is about having fun and enjoying what this board has to offer.I just dont feel the moderator's should get to overprotective.I've been involved in some of those pro vs anti Priscilla topics in the past that got fairly heated.However I dont think I insulted anyone or took anything directed at me personally.It was good fun.Would you agree Donut?Hi Jak,

We set a good example for those of us who "fight".We may not have agreed on some things yet I dont have any bad feelings about it and Im sure you dont either.I enjoy a good boxing match sometimes!The key to this is not to personally insult another poster for their expressed opinions.Anybody that maliciously attacks another should be warned then banned if it continues.The same goes for foul language.I just wouldnt lock entire threads because people have more of a blunt or forcefull tone in their posts.Dont pull the leash to tight.I like an open forum where people with varying ideas can go back and forth.
