i've always liked the title track[never tire of it] , i really like the version of IF YOU LOVE ME...[wish they didn't overdub ] little darlin would have bin great if he rememberd the words or didn't fool around with them, and of course she thinks... I'ts a great listen from start to finish, even though i don't really like UNCHAINED, i always had hoped that RCA would have released the live version of YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE , from nassau 75, it was such a great version, and they could have released it on this album as a filler, I wrote JOAN DEARY for years asking her if they had this track and she assured me they did, but like the 61 hometown performance it was not in acceptable quality. I believe the soundboard exists for this show and this would be a great thing to get on cd whatever quality, even though it has bin on bott for some years it's one that i go back and listen to time and again, the reason i bring this up is because, FELTON had mentioned this song/version was going to be released [back in 76] on a live album that was in the works [HE SAID THIS IN SHAVERS WINTER MAG NOV 76] i sure don't know what happened to that project , maybe ERNST JORGENSEN can give some details, i know that FELTON had alot of projects he wanted to do, and this would have bin a great album no doubt, just look at the 77 live cuts he used in the MOODY ALBUM, ahh if only.

I'm With Yo8u Memphis 77 on things you said, there more stuff that ERNST JORGENSEN not Telling us Fans I know about MOODY BLUE Live Version back In Early 80's, JOAN DEARY Had ALot LIve Songs ans Full Concerts between 1969 to 1977,
It took over 20 years To Release Live Of Moody Blue, In an Intveiw With Gold mine paper, She Say that they Have Over 20 years of Unreleased Songs To Release(1983), now ERNST saying they are running out Of outtakes From The Srudios.
If they are, There alot Of Soundboards we don't know about.
The On Tour's Shows we had one was Release,
Release Them without use On Tour Name On Them.
Liked THe August 13th 1970 Dinner Show, ERSNT said The they are done with TTWII for now.
come on release the show, On Paper That Show look better another ones they releases , I love See A 6 CDS set, All Shows FRom TTWII was Recordeded On RCA Label, not On FTD Label, give some Fans To hear it.
ERNST is Hold Things Back I think so, We had every year of soundboards, Almost, we hadn't have soundboard From 1973 shows, I'm not counting AlohaFrom Hawaii.

I would imagine that someone who had heard the album before Aug. 16 1977, would have reason to be encouraged. With a few exceptions, it's one of the most upbeat albums of his 70's output. Definitely more upbeat than Boulevard, and points the way to a more rock oriented direction. Now maybe this was just a case of clever track selection, rather than a real change of direction for him. At the time, I would have been concerned with the lack of original material, especially since one of the songs had already been featured on an album from a few years prior(LMBT), but overall, based on the album itself, it seemed to signal a bright future.

It's true other tracks could have been used, but I think the emphasis was trying to be placed on Elvis the rocker. Especially with the Sun Sessions having been re-released by RCA and the Legendary Performer series. If the January sessions in Nashville would have happened, it could have meant a real turn around in his recording career. At least critically if not commercially.

I really liked the Moody Blue album - Blue Album and all. I still have several Elvis albums but not the Moody Blue one and that is the one that I liked best. I have a new turn table, cassette player, ie a whole new stereo system my husband bought me for my b'day. I thought and think Moody Blue is one of his best uptempo albums but that's just me.

Pretty powerful lineup. I wasn't sure how the faster version of "She Thinks..." would work, but I kind of like it. My favorite is still the master take on the original album. I didn't include "Let Me Be There", cause I just don't think it fits in. Thought about another song to round-up the line-up, but I just couldn't nail one down. Suggestions are welcome!

I think the Moody Blue album is a good album,with good songs.
I also think they should have taken other songs instead of little darlin' because people would think Elvis wasn't a serious singer.
And just like Memphis 77 said,they could have choosen You'll never walk alone which is a great song

Closing Night FTD was from September 3, 1973 DS/CS as well. So that makes two other shows besides Aloha shows that is release.

Funny you bring this topic. I've been playing my Moodyblue Album almost all week long . Such a great album imo, one of my favorites!! If You Love Me and Unchained Melody are from great versions, both from the kick butt Ann Arbor concert..But alot of my favorite tracks are on that album such as It's Easy For You, I'll Never Fall In Love Again, For The Heart, Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain, and of course Moody Blue. So many of these songs relate to Elvis' life at the point and time..especially It's Easy For You.."I had a wife, and i had children, and i through it all away, and now you tell me, you dare to tell me....."such a great song, very sad to hear him sing though imo.

The title song may be my favorite Elvis song--I've never heard a song before or since that has the same feel. That Mark James probably lived pretty well from writing three songs--Always On My Mind, Suspicious Minds and Moody Blue.

I'm curious--could someone describe the over dubbing on If You Love Me?
