That is Elvis' Last Will and Testament. Back in the late 70s to very early 80s, you could of buy a copy of it. I got two copies of it myself in my collection.

    Elvis' Last Will

I once found and printed up a copy of Elvis' will from 1977 that he did I think in April of that year, but this is the first time I've seen a copy dated after his death. I remember his will was very long and detailed.....

    The site

This is one of the crappiest Elvis sites out there. It has links to a section called 'Elvis and aliens'. And the Is Elvis Alive b.s gets a good run.

Perhaps our friend 'elpfan' would like that bit, no doubt ...

The text from the Will is the same as a copy I purchased years ago.

But as for the rest of the site ... FORGET IT!

The 8/22/77 date just means the date it was filed to be put into effect. My Dad Died this past December 13th, I had his will filed December 21st for probate etc.

I am seeing them on ebay right now. Go for the ones that has a blueish front cover. That is the one that they sold during the late 70s and 80s. Their was no picture of Elvis on it.

Not at all. My 85-year-old Dad is executor and main beneficiary of my Will, as he is the only person I really trust. Obviously, the chances are I'll outlive him, so I will change it after that.

First let me say I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I'm sure it made the holidays tough. You have my thoughts and prayers. Secondly, when was the date Elvis last changed his will before he died? Was it in April 77 like I think I remember?

Thanks Vulcandude. The Date with Ginger as the witness, the final update I believe was actually written in March of 77 but I'm almost sure was the one you've seen , was the will that was filed on 8/22/77 . I used to have (most likely still do) have a physical copy of it filed around here somewhere but its the one thats on that link I'm almost positive.

Smiley's Flea Market in Macon, Georgia. Here is the official site of Smiley's:
    http://www.smileysfleamarkets.com/

I work there now. I believe I was working there when I found the stuff that I paid 8 bucks for. It is a great place to find Elvis stuff. Like this pass weekend. I found four VHS tapes for 10 bucks: Aloha From Hawaii (Yellow box), One Night With You, Elvis 56, and The Great Performances (Hosted by Priscilla). I also got four CDs of Elvis. Golden Records Vol. 1 (Both the original and remastered versions), Blue Hawaii, and On Stage (Remastered). I found figures and many more of Elvis there all the time.

Hey no problem....I know what it's like to lose someone you love. As for Elvis' will, I think the copy I found on the internet and printed out wasn't the filed version on August 22, 1977. Any way I could see a copy of the one you have?

Yep, I believe the will was at least 13 pages long...and there have been rumors (most notably by Billy Smith in "Elvis Aaron Presley: Revelations From The Memphis Mafia") that Vernon possibly either destroyed or altered Elvis's handwritten will...

The emphasis in the quotes below are mine...

Quote from Billy Smith in "Elvis Aaron Presley-Revelations From The Memphis Mafia":

"Right after Elvis passed away, Vernon closed off the house. A few days after he did that, Patsy Presley (Gambill) called me, wanting to know where Elvis kept his important papers. I said, "Is Vernon looking for Elvis's copy of the will?" I figured they couldn't find it because I had hid it so well. And stupid me, I told her right where it was."
And from Marty Lacker in "Elvis Aaron Presley: Revelations From The Memphis Mafia":

"On August 22, Elvis's will was filed for probate. It was thirteen pages long. And there was nothing in it about Elvis leaving anything to any of the guys. Apparently, Vernon also found the handwritten will, but I heard from a very good source that it was destroyed."
    And again from Billy Smith:

"Two or three days after I told Patsy where Elvis's copy of the will was, they burned a lot of papers our behind the office. It still bothers me deeply. When that thing was probated and I saw it wasn't anything like what I read, it just floored me. Because either Elvis was the biggest liar in the world or somebody altered that will"
    .

Basically, what I'm getting at is that most of these copies of Elvis's will that you can purchase are not the real thing....

Not trying to start a dispute or anything, but, Tony, how do we know the copy of the will that was filed wasn't the real copy? None of us were there, so how would we know for sure?

We don't, however Elvis did tell the guy's he was going to look after them, and Billy has said that the will he originally recieved from Elvis to store for safe keeping - which he later gave to Patsy Gambill - had provisions for the guys in it.

I think it's quite possible Vernon altered it, he always disliked the way Elvis spent money - especially on the guys.

Common sense dictates a Will as important as Elvis Presley's would have been examined very closely indeed by all the Lawyers involved.

    Cool

Yes it does, however Billy has no reason to lie.

A little bit of work into the subject and talking with those involved with it, does bring into question a few things.

I don't think Billy Smith would lie about something like this.
