Thread: elvis's last will

  1. #21
If "the guys" had a case I'm sure we would have seen quite a Legal battle.

The tiniest of discrepancies in Elvis Presley's Legally drawn up Will would have caused quite a commotion.

People lie for all sorts of reasons. Money is often one of them.

  2. #22

    Cool

Why would they start a legal battle?

They have no evidence, except for what Billy saw and what Elvis told them.

Apart from that, they didn't start a legal battle because that would of meant causing more undue stress and hardship to Vernon who was not well, and they would also be taking money from Lisa - which they did not want to do, as that was Elvis's daughter.

I suggest a bit of further reading into the subject, and discussion with people involved.

I think Vernon doctored the will.....which is why Patsy Gambill got Billy's copy from Billy, which had the correct details on it.

People tend to forget that Vernon spent time in jail for fraud and that he disliked Elvis's spending and generosity. With Elvis out of the picture, Vernon didn't want to give out money foolishy.

Elvis worked himself into the ground in the end, and did so in order to maintain Graceland and the guy's. The guy's all had families and Elvis felt a certain responsibility to them. It seems strange that he would continue to put his body under this stress while living, only to omit them from his will, after looking after them for so many years.

Everything isn't black and white, and research, not just on the internet, but actually meeting and talking with people involved yields dividends.

Some fan's can be naive in such matters or maybe ill-informed.

I'm sure the LAWYERS would have questioned in depth any alterations in Elvis Presley's will.

Hearsay and conjecture is usually thrown of court.

    I agree 100%
Without a song, the day would never end.
    Without a song,a man ain t got a friend.
Without a song, the road would never bend,
so I keep singing a song. Elvis Presley

    Cool

As you may or may not know, the law requires proof.

The guys never did anything about it. They had too much respect for Lisa, and Vernon was not well.

Vernon and the attorney were buddies. You can't really be that naive to believe that things aren't fixed from time to time.

We can all make statements like you have, except you have not spoken to thsoe involved and are not well versed in the topic. Google won't help in this case ;-)

I'm sure respected Lawyers in Memphis deal with unsubstantiated claims with disdain. Gossip is of little value here.

  7. #27

    Cool

    Ignorance is bliss.

It is often better to say nothing, if you know nothing of the subject at hand.

Such a shame google doesent reveal much on the topic.

I would be interested to know what unsubstantaited claims have been made regarding this to respected lawyers in Memphis. My sources reveal that no action has been taken.

Still, better to actually do your own research than to use other people's.

Going to university opens so many doors and avenues, as does having the money to explore things at depth, just like many people on this board and many informed Elvis fans.

I was an Elvis fan in 1957 before many of your "guys" came on the scene.

So for 50 years I've been listening to watching and reading about Elvis.

Obviously I have not the same star struck interest in "the Guys" that you have.

I have only met Richard Davis and George Klein In Mississippi. We exchanged a few words and took photos.

But I did help get a statue of Elvis erected in Tupelo....without the aid of a degree:-)

Raised two classical music trained children and played chess with actor Bernard Hill in our home back in 1971.

And you are aged........................? Seeing as you like to boast a lot..........

    http://irelandtoo.blogspot.com in our home 1974.

Our daughter was playing Mozart Concertos when she was 9 she went on to the Royal Acadamy of Music in London. Our son a rock band member. Now into computers. They are very well travelled:-) And very intelligent by the way.

I think we will agree to differ before you get us both barred again. Being older I'm a little wiser.................. these days

Maybe things were different in 1977, but nobody could alter my will today because there are two identical copies of it one the Lawyer retained, the original I have. When its read they have to match, or they're void and the state takes over. I may be 100 % wrong, and thats fine I have no stake in this I wasn't in the will but, I can't imagine Elvis would hire a Lawyer that bad, that he didn't keep a copy of what he drew up on file.

Yes that makes sense JDD. Lawyers have to be very careful in these matters with Judges looking over their shoulders.

    Cool

Hey i'm not going to continue this any further. I don't think Billy is lying and im sure Vernon was well capable of altering the will. I find it a bit too fishy that Elvis would leave nothing - not anything to his cousin Billy.

Elvis fan in 57 Maurice, some of the guy's knew Elvis then, have fun working it out.

Unfortunately I don't feel star struck by the MM as you would like, and your unhealthy interest in replying to me when I have asked you not to is worrying.

You were dispised on the FECC forum by a great many people, some of whom actually produced fine artwork of you, which I did enjoy looking at!

Klein is full of it and may Richard Davis rest in peace.

I'm glad that you designed, funded and contructed the statue in Tupelo, such a shame that some of my colleagues know about you and your media trail regarding it has run dead. You also seem to be threatened by qualifications, well I didn't stop after the degree or even after that.

Playing chess and raising classical trained children requires a supreme effort, especially on your low income and the fact that you are really scrimping and saving these days as well, with your FIAT - Fix It Again Tommorow - car. I applaud you, it can't be easy, and it's great that your kids turned out so well. It is a shame that you must talk about them and your private life on a public Elvis message board, but I do presume you have exhausted every other avenue.

I'm not going to get myself barred or you for that matter. You need to do something though Maurice, you need to stop replying to my posts.

I have to go now and meet my architect for an hour. Have a good night and don't reply.

However, one needs to look at the facts, and not speculate.

Elvis was about to go on the road, to make more money as funds were low.

Graceland was opened to the public after Elvis' death, because of funds being low.

Lisa would have needed to be provided for.

    The above are the facts.

"The Guys" were quite capable of getting jobs, they were young men. Lisa was a little girl.

    Hi Numbers

Please take no notice, that guy is one of the reasons I very rarely post here anymore, I just got sick of the me me me in the disguise of ELVIS do-good-ing, I love reading your posts and always find that you are informative and knowledgable about Elvis.

I would love to hear more of your stories, and wish you well

The MM were half the reason Elvis was out on the road.

The facts are that Billy saw a different will than what we see today.

You are correct with the above information.

The hostility towards the MM is quite amusing. These are people Elvis chose to spend his personal time with. Jealousy is one word that springs to mind.

Billy did. Billy is a good man.

Elvis loved his friends, they were his friends. He would have forgiven them too, he wasn't one to hold grudges.

However, he is gone now, so SOME of the MM have betrayed him.

They have sold their personal stories, which should have been private, for money, for ego, for attention. Some fans speak from their gut, from picking up that something is wrong, but are unable to put it into words. (I haven't been on here long, so I am not making these comments in the context of anything or anyone, I haven't read many posts. This is a general comment, from my observations).

Also, some people are star struck by the MM, and defend them at all costs, not realising, that you can have three people in a conversation, and each walk away with a different impression. Heck I bet Elvis wouldn't have remembered the stories, in their entirity. Also remember, some were on pills, so their recollection, with time and age on top, wouldn't be 100%. Most of the MM are NOT bad apples. Notice what I'm not saying.

    My first car 1964

Most intelligent writers regard "the guys" as half witted leaches. Birds of a feather.........

By the way Michiel Van der Sommen the sculptor of the beautiful "Elvis at 13" Statue was talking to me on the telephone just last week. He enjoyed his week with us in our home here in Ireland and was delighted I got his statue featured in "The Irish Times" twice...including the magazine......we drove him all over Dublin in our ancient Volkswagon and even arranged for him to give a talk and slide-show about sculpture at the Central Library in Dublin

All the intelligent folks in Tupelo are delighted with the amount of publicity we have generated for the city in the past ten years. That's why they invited us to be guests of the city!

So far we have seen NOTHING of your work for Elvis, just a lot of bluster.

The Memphis Business Journal reporter contacted me just last week
    http://irelandto.blogspot.com

Moderator. Now with sheer will power, I will ignore 03 completely.

But by me just replying to subjects he instantly becomes personal.......very strange behaviour..........?

This is a very sad fact, Maurice. Some have betrayed, some have negative outlooks, which taint everything they say, it is very sad, what people will do, for money and ego.

Some are still Elvis' good friends, respecting his memory to this day, and are entitled to write books, as they do so with decency and fond memories, of a very special, and talented man.

Jess the only half witted leach is the person who wrote that comment.

I don't seek personal gratification for things I do on a public message board, but that indiviudal has seen plenty of my work, he just isn't smart enough to realise it.

Unfortunately *****s like him ruin it for good fans.
